How This New Superman Comic Aims to Hook New DC Readers

When a strange kidnapping occurs, you might think that Batman is the right hero to take the case, but when the evildoer abducts the little girl into space, it becomes a job for Superman. That’s the premise of the upcoming "Up in the Sky!" 12-part story arc from writer Tom King and artist Andy Kubert, although that’s not the only thing a little different about this comic. The story will be debuting exclusively in Superman Giant #3 -- a 100-page collection of comics that can only be found in Walmart, rather than your typical comic book shop. DC’s partnership with Walmart aims to reach a new audience with these comics that feature both classic and brand new material, and this story by two comic industry juggernauts is intended to be one of the big draws.

EVE Online Developer Bought by South Korea’s Pearl Abyss

EVE Online developer, CCP Games, has been acquired by Black Desert Online creator Pearl Abyss for $425 million.

The South Korean buyer will allow CCP to continue to operating independently out of its offices in Reykjavik, London and Shanghai. GamesBeat reports that the $425 million deal is expected to close on October 12.

"We are thrilled to have CCP Games join our team as Black Desert Online continues to branch out globally," said Pearl Abyss CEO, Robin Jung in a press release. "CCP is a seasoned publisher with over 15 years of digital distribution experience and know-how. They have done an incredible job of engaging and maintaining their playerbase, which we aim to learn from and hope to integrate natively into Pearl Abyss’ general practices across all our games.

Valve Rolls out Steam Adult Only Filter

Steam has a new Adult Only filter for games with "explicit or graphic" sexual content.

Amidst a number of changes detailed in a blog post today, Valve has announced the addition of a new Adult Only filter alongside a general Mature Content filter, giving players more control over the games that pop up in their searches.

"So far, the Store has allowed you to filter out games that feature Frequent Violence/Gore or Nudity/Sexual Content", wrote Valve's Tom Bui. "After looking at the mature content in submissions we're receiving, and at some games that are already in the Store, we've added two more options.

Crunchyroll held its second convention this past weekend in San Jose, California, with all sorts of guests from the anime and wider entertainment industry. Bond 25 Eyes Franchise’s First Female Director

As the search for a new director for Bond 25 continues following the departure of Danny Boyle, the latest development indicates that MGM and Eon have shown interest in what would be the first female director for the franchise.

As reported by Variety, S.J. Clarkson, who is set to direct Star Trek 4, is one of the new choices being considered alongside American Animals' Bart Layton and White Boy Rick's Yann Demange. If chosen, Clarkson would be the first female director to lead a Bond film.
