How Spider-Man PS4’s Best Boss Battles Came to Be

Marvel's Spider-Man features a handful of familiar foes for Spidey to face off with, but some of Insomniac Games' coolest fights didn't originally start out as they appear in the game.

Spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man follow.

Speaking to IGN during our Spider-Man PS4 spoilercast, creative director Bryan Intihar took us behind-the-scenes of the game's more intriguing battles. Watch the clip above to hear directly from Intihar about how the Electro/Vulture and Rhino/Scorpion fights began.

As Intihar describes in the clip above, the Electro and Vulture 2-on-1 battle didn't always start out that way, but rather was intended to be different 1-on-1 battles. Once Insomniac realized the fun of combining two aerial foes into one battle, however, they figured out a new twist on the late-game fight that solidified it as one of the most unique battles in the adventure.

We Reveal Three New Shadowverse: Omen of the Ten Cards

The next Shadowverse set – Omen of the Ten - is launching at the end of September and I’m hugely excited. Why? Because the overall theme is quite dark and twisted, and it feels like developer Cygames is having heaps of fun with the gameplay concepts that come along with it.

Omen of the Ten, you see, refers to ten characters – each a legendary card in the set – each of which has a unique theme, often tied to their Omen number. The Omen of One, Mjerrabaine, for instance, is Shadowverse’s first card to promote singleton decks – i.e. decks with only one copy of each card (aside from Mjerrabaine himself in this case). Valnareik, Omen of Lust – the seventh Omen and a Bloodcraft legendary – has an ability that’s activated if your leader has taken damage at least seven times during the match. The ninth Omen, meanwhile, is Raio, Omen of Truth, a Runecraft legendary with a fanfare that spellboosts all the cards in your deck nine times. Woah!

Every TV Show Canceled So Far This Year

We're keeping a running tally on all of the TV shows canceled in 2018 so far. Since we first made our list back in May, sixteen more shows have been put on the chopping block.

Some of these cancelations were due to low ratings, while others, like ABC's popular Roseanne revival, were axed because of off-screen controversies. However, ABC has picked up The Conners, a Roseanne spinoff, without Barr.

For Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, there was a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a rainbow-colored peacock named NBC, while Syfy's The Expanse was saved by Amazon for Season 4. And Netflix resurrected Fox's Lucifer for a 10 episode Season 4 after a passionate fan campaign, while also saving Designated Survivor with a Season 3 renewal. Even NBC's Timeless will come back for an epic two-part series finale. Here's a look at all of the shows that have been canceled so far in 2018.
