Kristen Bell Confirms New Veronica Mars Series Coming to Hulu
The Veronica Mars revival is official. Hulu has ordered eight new episodes of the hour-long drama for 2019, with Kristen Bell reprising her role as the titular character.
"BREAKING NEWS out of Mars Investigations!" Bell wrote on Twitter, alongside a 20-second video of the announcement. "Thank you to all the marshmallows for staying excited and to Hulu for giving Veronica a chance to wear her big girl pants."

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
Rocket League Surpasses 50 Million Players
More than three years after its initial release, Rocket League continues to pick up steam. Developer Psyonix revealed yesterday that Rocket League has now surpassed 50 million total players.
"Rocket League now has more than 50 MILLION players worldwide!" tweeted Psyonix. "Thank you to our ever-growing global community for helping us reach this incredible milestone."
The top fan reply to the tweet is a request for cross-platform party functionality. It's a feature Psyonix originally promised would be available this month, but last week delayed indefinitely to ensure it operates "flawlessly on all platforms before its release."
Marvel’s Spider-Man Is the Fastest-Selling PlayStation Exclusive of All Time
With 3.3 million copies sold within the first three days of its release, Insomniac Games' Spider-Man for PS4 is the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation game of all time.
USA Today reported the sales milestone for Marvel's Spider-Man, indicating that, assuming all copies were sold at the standard MSRP of $59.99, USA Today worked those 3.3 million copies sold out to be about $198 million. Though of course the collector's edition of the game would factor into those sales.
Not included in either of those figures are copies that were sold as part of the $399.99 PlayStation 4 Pro bundle that comes with a copy of Spider-Man packed in.
Daredevil Season 3 Trailer Shows Kingpin’s Return
The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is back with an exciting new teaser trailer for Marvel's Daredevil Season 3.
Premiering on Netflix on Friday, October 19, Matt Murdock will confront his old nemesis, Kingpin, aka Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio). The last time we saw Fisk, he was still safely behind bars, but according to Matt, evil "will find a way to come back even stronger."

Ghostbusters World Fixes Some of Pokemon Go’s Problems But Lacks Its Heart
A huge wave of nostalgia hits me when I think of Ghostbusters. Hearing the theme song or seeing the Ecto-1 immediately evokes memories of watching the original films and playing with Ghostbusters toys as a kid. But despite years of loving the franchise and many occasions of pretending to be a Ghostbuster on the playground, my fantasies never involved collecting teams of ghosts to battle against other Ghostbusters or walking through the city searching for spirits.
This is where Ghostbusters World, the upcoming free-to-play mobile game from publisher FourThirtyThree, finds itself in a precarious spot. Ghostbusters is absolutely a beloved franchise that’s ripe for a great game adaptation, but not one that necessarily lends itself to the gotta-catch-‘em-all mentality as easily as Pokemon.
Disney to Slow Down How Often It Releases Star Wars Movies
Disney will reduce the pace of Star Wars movie releases, with CEO Bob Iger calling his previous timing decisions a "mistake".
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Iger was presented with the opinion that there shouldn't be a Star Wars movie every year. His response was candid:
"I made the timing decision, and as I look back, I think the mistake that I made — I take the blame — was a little too much, too fast. You can expect some slowdown, but that doesn't mean we're not going to make films."
Iger continued by pointing out the ongoing Star Wars projects, like J.J. Abrams' Episode IX and the Game of Thrones creators' own saga (although The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson's own new trilogy wasn't mentioned).
Disney Confirms Marvel Would Take Over X-Men Franchise After Fox Merger
We're a step closer to X-Men becoming a part of the MCU, as Disney CEO Bob Iger confirms that, as and when a Disney-Fox merger goes through, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios would take the lead on the longtime Fox franchise.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Iger responded to a question on how Marvel will absorb the X-Men franchise, and if Kevin Feige will oversee it:
"I think it only makes sense. I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."
Doctor Who’s Official Season 11 Trailer Has Landed
The official trailer for Doctor Who Season 11 has landed, with Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor leading her wide-eyed new companions – Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill) and Graham (Bradley Walsh) – across space and time to explore planets and civilizations we haven't seen before.
The new season will premiere at the same time in the US and the UK on Sunday, October 7, with BBC America then airing a special encore later that day in the series' regular US evening timeslot.

How Venom’s Biggest Stunt Sequence Was Made
One of the biggest sequences from the Venom trailers sees Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock flying off a motorcycle into the air, seemingly to his death, before the symbiote inside him lashes out its tentacles and pulls him back to safety. IGN exclusively visited the set of Venom earlier this year to watch part of the elaborate stunt sequence be shot on the streets of San Francisco, seeing in real life just how much work goes into bringing such an action-packed scene to the big screen.
The motorcycle chase sequence is an important scene for the film because it sets up Eddie’s rational fear of Venom, but also shows his realization that the symbiote can protect him when he’s in danger. Spiro Razatos, Venom’s second unit director, told IGN, “This is the first time that Eddie finds out he has Venom in him. Obviously, he’s freaking out. He’s got drones that are blowing up all around him, he’s got SUVs that are trying to kill him, and he’s got Venom inside of him. So he’s trying to deal with this while he’s going at eighty miles an hour on a motorcycle through the traffic of San Francisco.”
Red Dead Redemption 2: 24 New Screenshots Released
Rockstar has released 24 new screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Primarily showing protagonist Arthur Morgan and Dutch's gang, the images also show a variety of locations from the game, and a really wrinkly horse:
Several of the screenshots show situations or locations from our hands-on with the game, including the prairies of New Hanover, and moments from missions we've played.
