Pokemon Go PVP Should Wait for a Battle System Rework
Pokemon Go could add battles against other players very soon. According to an interview with Polish publication Gram.pl (as translated by Pokemon Go Hub), Niantic’s EMEA product marketing head Anne Beuttenmuller says Niantic is working on PVP and aims to have it available by the end of this year.
The idea of PVP itself is hardly news for Pokemon Go -- after an appearance in Pokemon Go’s original announcement trailer, comments about the mode have shown up in interviews with other Niantic employees and The Pokemon Company’s CEO in the past, and Niantic outright told IGN that PVP is “still on the roadmap” nine months ago.

Fortnite Leaks Suggest We Could Get Customizable Battle Bus and More
Fortnite leaks suggest that the game may introduce the ability to customize and choose their favorite battle buses, characters, hats, and more.
A pair of leaks posted to Twitter by @FNBRLeaks and @Siloxleaks show Fortnite code indicating the new option to "favorite" a large list of features in the game - presumably making it easier to apply your preferred cosmetics on the fly.
Interestingly, some of the features listed either currently don't exist (such as hats), or aren't customizable (such as the Battle Bus or map markers), suggesting that they may become options in future updates.
Warner Bros. is Developing a Supergirl Movie
A Supergirl movie from Warner Bros. and DC is in the works and Oren Uziel, known for writing the screenplays for 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox, is working on the script.
This news comes from Deadline, and little else is known about the project. It does not currently have a producer, director or actors attached to it at this point, so it is likely in the very early stages of development.
Supergirl, also known by her Kryptonian name Kara Zor-El, is a well-known quantity in the DC universe and is the cousin of the Man of Steel himself. Kara was sent to Earth to protect her infant cousin, but was delayed and arrived after him.
Capcom Exec Prefers Games Review Well and Sell Less Than Review Poorly and Sell More
While it may seem obvious video game companies want their games to sell well, at least one Capcom executive believes the company's focus should be on the quality of their releases.
In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Capcom Europe COO Stuart Turner explained why he believes critical reception is key, in relation to Resident Evil 7 compared to Resident Evil 6. While the former has drastically higher review scores on Metacritic, the latter has sold two million more units as of March 2018.
"While we have shareholders to appease, it's not just about commercial performance," he said. "There is an artistic element that always comes in where we know this is the right way. And while if we compare RE7 to RE6 the absolute numbers are not the same, in terms of the profitability... it's completely fine. It ticked all of our boxes internally. It was really well received.
Star Wars: Jon Favreau’s Series Will Reportedly Cost $100 Million
Disney's live-action Star Wars series will reportedly have a costly budget.
Per the New York Times, Disney will spend an estimated $100 million on the show's 10 episodes. The project, from Iron Man director Jon Favreau, will debut exclusively on Disney's upcoming streaming service.
“Star Wars is a big world, and Disney’s new streaming service affords a wonderful opportunity to tell stories that stretch out over multiple chapters,” Favreau said in an email.
The yet untitled series will take place seven years after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and will center on new characters. Favreau is penning the show and executive producing as well. It could launch alongside a live-action Marvel show, a Monsters, Inc. animated series, and a High School Musical TV show.
Robert Redford Is Retiring From Acting
Robert Redford has announced he's officially retiring from acting.
In an interview with EW, the 81-year-old actor confirmed the upcoming drama The Old Man & the Gun will be his very last role. Redford, who's been acting since the 1960s when he was 21, firmly believes it's time to go into retirement.
“Never say never, but I pretty well concluded that this would be it for me in terms of acting, and
move towards retirement after this ’cause I’ve been doing it since I was 21," Redford said. "I thought, well, that’s enough. And why not go out with something that’s very upbeat and positive?”
