Netflix Announces House of Cards Final Season Premiere Date

The premiere date for the final season of House of Cards has been announced through the official House of Cards Twitter account.

This sixth and final season will be coming to Netflix November 2, and will heavily feature Claire Underwood as its primary character after previous star Kevin Spacey was removed from the show following sexual misconduct allegations last year.

The image announcing the date is reminiscent of posters that once featured Frank Underwood, but now Claire sits atop the chair of the Lincoln Memorial, with her hand clenching the armrest and bleeding profusely. It reveals, like the majority of Netflix series, that all episodes for the season will be released on the same day. The post was accompanied by the hashtag #MyTurn, suggesting Claire's reign over the U.S. presidency is about to begin.

Square Enix: Expect More Games Like Octopath Traveler

A commercially successful, Nintendo-exclusive, retro JRPG from Square Enix is something few would have predicted before Octopath Traveler sprang into being, but it may not be the last of its kind.

Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki was at a Square Enix earnings conference today and tweeted that Square had a lot to say about Octopath Traveler. The biggest news from the conference is that Square Enix said to expect more games like Octopath Traveler in the future.

As for whether future Octopath-likes will be Switch-exclusive as Octopath Traveler is, Square Enix gave a non-committal answer. Future games of its ilk, according to Square, would be released on platforms "where appropriate." The publisher did say, however, that it believes Switch is a good platform for middle-range games.

The Predator Movie Cuts Edward James Olmos Because the Film Was ‘Too Long’

Edward James Olmos has been cut from The Predator movie, but says that he can "understand why".

Slashfilm reports that Battlestar Galactica's Edward James Olmos has been completely cut from Shane Black’s reboot of The Predator, because the film's run time was 45 minutes too long.

"I’m not in the show though," Olmos said. "It was too long so my character, they had to take me out. They were like half an hour, 3/4 of an hour too long. So I understand why.”

Olmos was cast in the movie last year and was set to portray a four-star general, but his character apparently wasn't integral to the story.

Metal Gear Solid Movie Director Wants to Make a ‘Kojima-San Version’

Metal Gear Solid director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, says the film is a "different approach to a video game movie", and will be made to reflect Hideo Kojima's approach to storytelling.

In an interview with Collider, Jordan Vogt-Roberts says that he wants to make a film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid that appeals "to the hardcore" fans of the series, but will also make "a general audience falls in love with" it.

Fortnite Patch 5.2 Adds Double Barrel Shotgun, New LTM

A new weapon, a new limited time mode, and several smaller additions and changes are all part of Fortnite's 5.2 patch update.

The Double Barrel Shotgun joins the shotgun family with epic and legendary variations. This deadly gun is most useful at very close range with its high burst damage that quickly drops off the further you get. The legendary variant can do up to 150 base damage per shot at "extreme close range." See more stats in the full 5.2 patch notes here.

A new limited time mode by the name of Steady Storm rids the map of any circles and instead slowly moves the storm without any pause. The storm does 10 damage per second and matches last 15 minutes.
