The Purge: The 11 Scariest Purgers
With four hit movies in the can and a TV series on the way, it's clear that The Purge was the right franchise for the right time.
Tapping into just about every anxiety and anguish we have as everyday Americans, The Purge quickly shifted from home invasion horror to a nightmarish politically-relevant thriller about an alternate reality where the marginalized and disenfranchised are targeted during an annual "holiday" where all crime is legal - including the sadistic systematic elimination of the poor.
But Purge night isn't only for government soldiers out for a grotesque genocidal spree. It's a special event where everyone is encouraged to feed the dormant beast that resides within and cause chaos for twelve hours straight. Purge participants come in all shapes and sizes, and all shades of crazy. If you're murderously missing a few marbles, it's the perfect opportunity to get yourself all gussied up and masked for a bacchanalian bloodbath.
Why Pokemon’s First Live-action Movie Features Detective Pikachu Instead of Ash Ketchum
In 2016 when news broke that Pokemon’s first-ever live-action movie would be the story of Detective Pikachu, it threw the Pokemon fandom for a loop. After all, kid trainer Ash Ketchum has been the face of the long-running Pokemon animated series for over two decades now, not to mention he’s already the star of numerous animated features. Detective Pikachu, on the other hand, was from a franchise spin-off game that tasked players with solving mysteries with a talking Pikachu (sans Ash) rather than quest to defeat gym leaders in battle. So why go with this new property instead of the old standby? At this weekend’s 2018 Pokemon World Championships in Nashville, TN, IGN was on the case.

Nintendo Labo Variety Kit Review
Constructing a miniature cardboard piano that plays a melodic range of cat meows and old man moans is a long but ultimately enjoyable undertaking. Most of the five cardboard toys in the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit result in this same feeling. The process of following Labo’s step-by-step instructions, which can descend into tedium at times, is saved by the final product: wonderfully weird playthings and the option of more creative tinkering. It’s classic Nintendo silliness with a delightfully crafty feel.
With three distinct sections that urge you to “Make,” “Play,” and “Discover,” there’s plenty to do with Nintendo’s $69 Labo Variety Kit. As the sections progress they take you deeper into the oddly innovative workings behind each cardboard toy, eventually giving you the chance to tailor them however you please in both looks and function. The Variety Kit may look like child's play, but there's a treasure trove of zany secrets and customization hidden below the surface.
Fortnite Cube Appears In-Game, Could Be Teasing Next Major Event
Epic Games appears to be teasing Fortnite's next big in-game event, as a huge purple cube has appeared on the map.
More precisely, the cube was zapped into existence by the giant rift in the sky. The rift had grown back to its original size after spending time shrinking every day, but it finally disappeared today right after blasting down a bolt of lightning that turned into the cube.
Twitter's @LootLakeBR captured footage of the event as it happened, while @FortniteBR grabbed the below screenshot of the cube.

The small group of crew members were prepping for pre-production in Atlanta. Filming was slated to commence in January or February of next year.
THR's source described the hold as a temporary "regrouping" while the search for a new director continues. "The timeline has been pushed out," the source told the trade.

Tom Hardy Is Signed On for 3 Venom Movies
Tom Hardy is committed to starring in more Venom movies.
In an interview with Total Film magazine, as reported on by ComicBook, Hardy confirmed he's signed on for three Venom films. The actor is open to once again portraying Eddie Brock if a Venom sequel were to happen.
"I'm open to whatever you want to do with it," Hardy said. "We've signed up for three of them. So it's very much an open case. We'll see what people's responses are to it."
"I think it's an awesome character. I love playing both of them. It's an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it's the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were," he said.
