The Fortnite Cube Has a Low-Gravity Dome Around It, and Is Leaving Behind Runes
Update 18/29/18 Part 2: The cube has been leaving behind mysterious runes in its wake. Watch the video below for more.

Ubisoft CEO Pictures the Future of Games
Yves Guillemot has big ideas about the future of gaming. Beyond just better graphics and more power for new systems, Guillemot sees a future where the concept of home consoles could change altogether, and games could embrace new technology to grow in major ways.
Speaking to IGN at Gamescom, Guillemot described a vision he’s laid out many times in the past: that the future of home gaming will arrive via streaming.
“Technology is actually going in that direction. The machines will be more powerful and the system to transfer data will be more efficient, so at one point, we will have a better experience streaming something than having to buy a machine and change the machine regularly,” Guillemot told IGN.
EA Cancels Remaining Madden Classic Qualifiers After Shooting
EA has cancelled the three remaining Madden Classic qualifying events in the wake of the August 26 shooting at a competitive Madden event in Jacksonville, Florida, where a competitor shot and killed two other players. 11 others were wounded during the shooting, nine with gunshot injuries, before the gunman took his own life.
In a statement released today, via the company's website, EA CEO Andrew Wilson expressed his shock and grief in the wake of the incident.
“First and foremost, it is an unthinkable tragedy that Taylor Robertson and Elijah Clayton, two of our top Madden competitors, lost their lives in this way,” said Wilson. “They were respected, positive and skilled competitors, the epitome of the players and personalities at the heart of our community. Their love of competition was evident through their participation in our events over the past few years. We are committed to supporting Taylor and Elijah’s families through this difficult time, and we send our deepest sympathies to their loved ones, to those injured yesterday, and everyone affected.
PlayStation Finally Fixes Baffling PSN Search Bar (for Some Players)
Sony is finally rolling out a better way to search for content on the PlayStation Network.
Some IGN PS4 owners have noticed a revised search function while browsing the store, which means Sony is finally addressing an issue many fans have had since they first brought their consoles home.
The new search function incorporates the same virtual keyboard PS4 owners have used to enter credit card information or search for friends on the PSN for years.
A representative for PlayStation confirmed that the changes are being rolled out globally, and include changes to the keyboard, more content details, and other alterations.
In addition to creating a faster search tool, users will enjoy expanded functionality, as the tool can be used to search for games by name as well as by genre, studio, or even publisher.

Melissa McCarthy Just Had the Worst Debut of Her Career
Actress Melissa McCarthy returned to theaters this weekend with her outlandish R-rated puppet comedy The Happytime Murders, although it managed to underperform with just over $10 million in third place. The opening is actually the worst of McCarthy’s career, for a movie opening in wide release, and when you take a closer look at the movie’s she’s opened, they often aren’t very consistent. With that in mind, we’re taking a deep dive through McCarthy’s previous films, and how they debuted at the box office.
There are movies McCarthy has appeared in that have opened worse than The Happytime Murders, but these are movies where she only had a minor role, like The Life of David Gale ($7.1 million), Drowning Mona ($5.8 million), White Oleander ($5.6 million) and Go ($4.7 million). There are also others which had worse debuts, since they were only given a limited debut such as St. Vincent ($109,878 from four theaters), The Nines ($23,617 from two theaters) and Pretty Ugly People ($2,522 from three theaters). Still, with those movies aside, The Happytime Murders marked a new career low for McCarthy.
