Is MoviePass Going Out of Business? Users Report Widespread Outages
With users across the country reportedly not being able to use the service, is MoviePass about to take its final bow?
After MoviePass suffered outages last week after temporarily running out of money, it appears that these troubles are persisting for many users. The most common issue is that most, if not all, showings for films aren't appearing on the app.
This issue prevents users from checking in to movies, though the service's e-ticketing feature is still working for some - this only exists at select theaters, and allows users to order tickets from home and pick them up at the box office. The only locations consistently able to offer showtimes are Landmark Theaters, which MoviePass has a deal with.
8 Years Later Halo: Reach Actor Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Photos
A little over eight years ago, Microsoft released a short live-action video called Birth of a Spartan as part of the marketing campaign for Halo: Reach. Many gamers may have forgotten about it over the years, but one person who certainly didn't is the man who says "I got my head drilled" for it.
In a post on Reddit, drdraxx identified himself as the actor who portrayed Birth of a Spartan's Carter-A259 and shared a number of behind-the-scenes photos, which can be seen below. His reason for sharing the photos now after all these years? Someone recently recognized from in real life and "went crazy," calling the actor his "childhood hero."
Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 Will Only Have 10 Episodes
Marvel's Iron Fist will have a shorter second season.
Netflix has confirmed to IGN Season 2 of the Marvel series, which premieres on September 7, will only consist of 10 episodes.
This is a departure for Netflix, as most of the company's tent-pole series, including Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Orange is the New Black, and Luke Cage, have remained at 13 episodes. A specific reason for lowering Iron Fist's episode count in its sophomore run hasn't been given.
However, Netflix did recently discuss during the Television Critics Association summer press tour why some of its shows have had pacing issues. Cindy Holland, Netflix's VP of original programming, gave an explanation for why some series still contain 13 episodes with each new season.
Capcom Releases Patch for Monster Hunter: World PC Crash Problem
Update 2: Capcom has informed IGN that a patch to combat Monster Hunter World's pre-release issue with crashes has now been deployed. This should now represent the release version of the game. In the short time since the patch's release, we've suffered no crashes, but we will update this story as we play more.
Update: IGN has received a response from Capcom saying it is "aware of the crash issue and a fix is already in the works." Capcom wouldn't provide an explanation for the cause of the problem, nor would they tell us when we can expect the fix, so we still don't know if it will arrive before or after its August 9 launch.
