How Involved is Marvel in Making Legion? Not Very.
Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb shed some light on what goes into making Legion at the show's Comic-Con panel on Sunday, revealing that since Fox still holds the rights for all of the X-Men and their related properties, "the shows that are currently at Fox and the X-Men characters are really under their paw, so it’s through our partnership with FX that we found a way to be part of the process and be part of the creative."
Loeb said that rather than taking a direct role in shaping the series, Marvel serves as "proud grandparents" for Legion, praising the show since it "doesn't feel like anything else we're doing."
In terms of crossovers and Easter eggs between the properties - including the potential appearance of David's father, Professor Xavier, Loeb said, "There’s a whole political ladder that we climb up and down - it's more of a jungle gym. There’s Fox movies and then there’s FX and Fox in general then there’s Marvel and there’s Marvel Studios... the fact that this show is as good as it is is a testament to the talent of these people." In other words, don't hold your breath.
Peter Griffin will Fight Donald Trump in Family Guy Season 17
Family Guy will debut a two-part episode featuring Donald Trump in its upcoming Season 17.
According to the executive producers, the new season will see Peter going to work for Donald Trump in Washington "just to make things up on the local news."` But when there's an encounter with Meg (uh oh), "Peter and Trump have it out," according to producer Rich Appel. "I won’t say who wins, you’ll have to tune in. It’s a giant chicken fight between the president and Peter all through Washington."
That won't be the only two-part episode in Season 17: The season premiere "involves Brian getting married," according to producer Steve Callaghan. "It’s such a fun story with so many twists and turns that it ended up not being able to be told in one episode."
