Could Adam Warlock Appear in Avengers 4?
Full spoilers follow for Avengers: Infinity War.
Avengers: Infinity War draws a lot of inspiration from classic Marvel storylines like The Infinity Gauntlet, but there's one major character that didn't make the transition. Despite being a big player in The Infinity Gauntlet, Adam Warlock sat out the events of Infinity War. Fans may have to wait until 2020's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to finally see this cosmic messiah on the big screen alongside folks like Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Nebula and the rest. (Assuming they all survive 2019's Avengers 4!)
Still, there's always a chance that Warlock will make his debut in Avengers 4 first. Here's a quick breakdown of who this character is, why his story is so intertwined with that of Thanos and how Avengers 4 could fill that void.
Undoing Avengers: Infinity War’s Ending Will Come at a ‘High Cost’
Warning: Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War follow. Turn back now if you haven't yet watched the film.
Avengers: Infinity War ends on a gruesome note, with Thanos successfully killing half of the universe and Marvel superheroes. Speaking to Variety, directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed the ending can be undone, but it'll come at a "high cost."
“I will say this: There is a real commitment on our end to the stakes,” Anthony Russo said. “Yes, this is a fantasy world, and yes, remarkable things can happen in a fantasy world, but, they come at an incredibly high cost," Joe Russo continued.
Kevin Feige Shoots Down One Possible Avengers 4 Title
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige hasn't revealed what the next Avengers movie is called, but he did say one name that won't be used.
In an interview with Collider, Feige confirmed the fourth Avengers movie, hitting theaters on May 4, 2019, definitely won't be called Infinity Gauntlet.
"That is definitely not what it is called," Feige said, when asked if Infinity Gauntlet is the official title. "Definitely not called that. My favorite wrong theory about Avengers 4 is that it will be called Infinity Gauntlet."
Feige did not tease what the actual name might be, but we have our own theories about the Avengers 4 title, with The New Avengers being one option. Feige recently told IGN he believes the speculation behind the name has "gotten entirely out of hand."
Ikaruga on Switch Will Let You Play the Game Vertically
Nicalis is bringing the vertically-oriented sci-fi shmup Ikaruga to Nintendo Switch at the end of this month.
Ikaruga on Switch has single-player and local, two-player coop play, along with "global leaderboards that can be accessed online for tracking high scores."
The Switch version also lets you flip the Switch vertically for "arcade-style TATE mode action," making it true to its arcade roots.
The top-down, bullet hell shoot 'em up has a lot of descriptors, but essentially combines the fast action of a shmup with a polarity system for strategy. Whereas most games in the genre will end quickly if you can't avoid the multitude of on-screen dangers, Ikaruga's ammo system means you have to take hits. As long as they're the correct color, they're absorbed.
Avengers: Infinity War Director Confirms This Character Survived
Avengers: Infinity War co-director Joe Russo has confirmed a certain character did indeed survive.
Warning: Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War follow. Turn back now if you haven't yet watched the film.
In the opening scene of the film, Thanos and the Black Order wipe out an entire Asgardian refugee vessel, as well as Loki and Heimdall. However, Valkyrie's (Tessa Thompson) fate is never directly addressed throughout the movie. So, fans were left wondering if the warrior is still alive after the events of the third Avengers film.
During a school-sponsored Q&A at the University of Iowa, Russo did confirm Valkyrie is still alive and kicking. According to a Reddit user who was in attendance, the director explained a few Asgardians managed to survive the massacre via escape pods, with Valkyrie was among the survivors.
