ABC Officially Cancels Marvel’s Inhumans

Marvel's Inhumans won't see a second season.

As reported by TVLine, ABC has canceled the show after just one season, which spanned a total of eight episodes. For the majority of its run, Marvel's Inhumans averaged a 0.6 rating and viewer count of 2.65 million. For its final two episodes, the show dropped to a 0.5 rating and 1.95 million viewers.

The cancelation of Marvel's Inhumans isn't all that surprising given comments from ABC about the show's future earlier this year. During the Television Critics Association press tour, ABC's Channing Dungey said the series' viewer numbers turned out to be "less exciting for us than we hoped they would be."

The Exorcist will come to an end after just two seasons. The horror drama's average of 1.32 million viewers made it Fox's lowest-rated show of the year, according to Variety. Lucifer, meanwhile, will end its run at Fox after three seasons.

Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson expressed his disappointment with the cancellation on Twitter: "So... yeah. Lucifer has been cancelled. And it f***ing HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe."
