Far Cry 5 Is Fastest-Selling Game in Franchise History
Far Cry 5 has hit a major sales milestone, becoming the fastest-selling game in the franchise's history.
As detailed by Ubisoft, the latest entry in the series has more than doubled Far Cry 4's first week sales, with digital distribution accounting for more than half of those sales.
Far Cry 5 is also now the second biggest launch ever for a Ubisoft title. It trails only behind Tom Clancy's The Division, with $310 million USD in consumer spending over its first week.
Additionally, players have streamed more than 55,000 hours of Far Cry 5 on Twitch, and YouTube videos featuring the game have garnered over 117 million views. Both are records for a Ubisoft game in the first week after launch.

Spielberg: Indiana Jones 5 Will Likely Be Harrison Ford’s Last
Steven Spielberg believes Indiana Jones 5 will most likely be Harrison Ford's last film as the beloved character.
In an interview with the Sun, Spielberg confirmed that the fifth film in the franchise, which begins production in April next year, will be Ford's final stint as the treasure hunter. However, the franchise will still continue after him. “This will be Harrison Ford’s last Indiana Jones movie, I am pretty sure, but it will certainly continue after that," Spielberg said.
Big Wins for Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, and More: Our Predictions for WrestleMania 34
We're just a few days out from WrestleMania 34 and the card just might be as solidified as it's ever going to be (still no official word on Undertaker vs. John Cena or who Braun's partner will be, if anyone), so let's dig into this mega-feast like a giant pull-apart loaf and see if we can't apply some logic, passion, fandom, smarkdom, and Opposite Momentum and figure out who's going to win all ze matches!

This is a massive card and a seven-hour haul, including the two-hour kickoff show.
Fortnite Devs Slow Down Patch Schedule to Improve Bug Fixing
Epic Games has announced that they'll be slowing down their Fortnite patch schedule to once every two weeks to improve bug fixing.
The fortnightly patch schedule will alternate with the new Content Updates, confirmed a PR spokesperson, and won't affect the weekly content for the game. Players will still get new features every week without the need for an update.
"Starting this week, we are doing things a little differently. Every other week we will drop new content without the need for an update," Epic explained. "These will be called Content Updates. This new cadence allows us to iron out more complex bugs, while continuing to provide fun content every week."
Marvel’s Spider-Man Features Unlockable Suits, No Microtransactions
Marvel's Spider-Man will feature unlockable Spidey suits, which come with distinct abilities - and you won't be able to get them through microtransactions, it seems.
As part of a Game Informer cover feature, Insomniac revealed three new suits (some more certain than others) beyond the developer's own new costume:
- Spider-Punk - Part of the game's pre-order bonuses, this combination of a sleeveless denim jacket and a spike mohawk adds the strange ability of allowing Peter to pull out a guitar and play a sonic shockwave knockdown attack.
Skybound Announces New Games Publishing Division
Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment has announced Skybound Games, a new division of the multiplatform company dedicated to publishing indie games.
Skybound’s new gaming venture will bring two previously released games to retail for the first time this September: Hinterland Studio’s The Long Dark and Monomi Park’s Slime Rancher, which have sold over 2 million and 1.3 million copies to date, respectively.
Dark Nights: Metal Didn’t Do Justice to Sandman
It's no surprise that Dark Nights: Metal was one of the top-selling comics of 2017. The series featured the long-awaited reunion between writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo on a Batman epic bigger than any they had worked on before. But the series also had another major element working in its favor. The first issue ended with the reveal that Batman had turned to none other than Dream of the Endless for help in his massive new case. As exciting as the prospect of a Batman/Sandman crossover was, that's one area where Metal failed to deliver.
Neil Gaiman's Sandman saga may technically be set within the DC Universe, but actual crossovers between DC's heroes and characters like Dream and Death are extremely rare. The Endless are very high up on the cosmic hierarchy in the DCU, and the struggles of heroes like Batman and Superman are generally beneath their notice. What importance is the fate of a city or even an entire world when you have all of reality to worry about? That's what made Dream's surprise appearance in Metal #1 such a big deal. If the threat of the villainous Barbatos was so dire that even a member of the Endless felt obligated to become involved, that's an ominous sign, indeed.
