Why Krypton Succeeds Where Gotham Failed
With Krypton making its debut on Syfy last month, we now have two live-action TV series set before the rise of an iconic DC hero. Krypton explores the struggles of Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, while Gotham has spent the past four years chronicling the rise of the future Commissioner Jim Gordon and Batman's rogues gallery. One thing both shows share in common is that they're not content simply to anchor themselves in the past. Both series devote a lot of time and energy to introducing characters and elements from the present-day DC Universe. But while that's often been one of the larger flaws with Gotham over the years, in Krypton's case it's helping to build a more compelling story.

Gotham’s Jerome Takes Final Step Toward Being Joker…But is It a Trick?
Not that there's been any real doubt about Cameron Monaghan's Jerome being the un-official Joker for FOX's Gotham, but this past week's episode, "Mandatory Brunch Meeting," pushed the character even closer toward iconic-Joker status.
Yes, on top of having his own face sewn on to his face, the joker card Easter egg from a few weeks ago, this week's "One Bad Day" reference, and many more Joker hallmarks, Jerome acquired his first ever batch of Joker Venom/Joker Gas this week. It's not labeled as Smylex, or anything of that ilk, as of yet, but it has the exact same effects.
The "test subject" Jerome acquired at the end was exposed to the chemicals, burst into a fit of laugher, developed a gruesome grin, and then died. As Gotham's fourth season barrels toward its endgame, Jerome plans to unleash this toxin on the city.

Hayley Atwell on How Her Howards End Character Compares to Peggy Carter
A four-part miniseries based on E. M. Forster's classic novel, Howards End - previously, and famously, adapted into a movie in 1992 featuring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson - premieres on Starz this Sunday, April 8th.
Starring Hayley Atwell and Matthew Macfadyen, Howards End recounts the tale of social conventions, codes of conduct and class relations in turn-of-the-century England, focusing on three families of varied levels of wealth (or lack thereof). Atwell stars as Margaret Schlegel (the character Thompson portrayed in the film), who along with her more impulsive sister Helen (Philippa Coulthard) are living relatively liberated lives in Edwardian London along with their aunt (Tracey Ullman).

The game, co-designed by YouTuber Joe "Angry Joe" Vargas, is played using a combination of cards and dice on various maps with destructible 3D terrain. It features a Versus Mode, as well as Free for All and Team Games options. Those who pledge at least $140 USD will also get the Boss Expansion, which includes a Boss Mode where three players team up to face off against one super powerful boss player.
Far Cry 5’s PUBG-Inspired Maps Are Mostly Bad
Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode has become the latest hub for fanmade Battle Royale maps inspired by PUBG and Fortnite, but most of them aren’t quite what you’d expect. Using Far Cry 5’s extensive map editor, players are building everything from their own versions of PUBG’s Erangel island to shoddy lookalikes to some totally fresh and off-the-wall creations. A quick search for "battle royale" in Arcade Mode's map browser brings up tons of rough drafts, many published just a day or two ago — an indication that this trend is only just getting started.
While some of them are impressive in detail, Far Cry 5 only allows for a handful of custom game modes and Battle Royale is not one of them — meaning the best many fans have been able to do is create the illusion of Battle Royale mechanics. As understandably rough as the current selection is, cool things are still on the horizon, especially if Ubisoft can match the growing community's passion and officially support new game modes.
