Pokemon: New Mythical Monster Zeraora Revealed

Excitement may be running high for Pokemon's forthcoming arrival on Switch, but the days of the 3DS iteration are not quite over yet, thanks to the announcement of a brand new mythical Pokemon for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokemon.

Originally announced on the Japanese Pokemon show Oha Suta, Zeraora is a pure Electric-type Pokemon, able to emit a powerful magnetic field from the pads on its hands and feet. Unlike other Electric types, it doesn't have an organ which generates electricity; rather it feeds on the electricity around it, storing it for future use.

Revisiting Night in the Woods as an Allegory for the Millennial Condition

It's not often that you stare into the deep well of video games and find your own reflection staring back at you, but the first time I played Night in the Woods, I saw myself in Mae Borowski's nightmare eyes. From her snarky cynicism to her steadfast rejection of the world, I saw flaws in Mae that mirrored my own, but on a much larger scale, mirrored the overall sense of nihilism and defeat that characterises the millennial worldview. Mae, to me, became a representation of a generation of silenced voices, and of uncertain futures.

Ostensibly, Night in the Woods is a game about the intriguingly odd Mae Borowski returning to her hometown of Possum Springs after dropping out of college, but beneath its charming surface, it represents all the horrors of the postmodern millennial condition. It is a game unafraid of exploring the context of the world in which it takes place, drawing parallels between Mae's circumstances, and the financial and emotional struggles of the current generation of young people.

New Solo Poster Strikes a Familiar Pose

LucasFilm has unleashed a new theatrical poster for Solo: A Star Wars Story, in tandem with the latest Solo trailer.

The poster features star Alden Ehrenreich in a pose that should be extremely familiar to Star Wars fans, flanked by Solo’s high-profile supporting cast, including Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, and Woody Harrelson.

The new Solo poster. The new Solo poster.

This artwork of Ehrenreich as Han Solo was previously glimpsed as part of a set of one-sheets based on several Solo characters. Those posters, however, were hit with plagiarism claims early last month. According to Disney those posters were created by “an outside vendor” and it was investigating the issue.

Game of Thrones S8 Features Battle That Took 55 Nights to Shoot

The final season of Game of Thrones will feature a battle the likes of which TV has never seen before. Sure, there's been the Battle of the Bastards and the Loot Train Ambush, but all of those sequences will pale in comparison to what awaits fans when Season 8 premieres in 2019.

According to Watchers on the Wall, the cast and crew just wrapped a 55 consecutive night shoot of a massive battle. That length of time more than doubles the amount of time it took to film their previous large-scale action scenes.
