Spider-Man PS4 Getting Tie-In Books

Insomniac's upcoming Spider-Man PlayStation 4 game is getting two tie-in books, one of which is a prequel novel.

Per Polygon, the novel is titled Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover and will lead directly into the start of the game. The story will focus on Kingpin's plans to take control of New York City and will feature an array of characters, such as Shocker, J. Jonah Jameson, and Mary Jane Watson.

The novel will also establish character relationships and certain details which will continue on in the game. Hostile Takeover is written by David Liss (Black Panther: The Man Without Fear), with Titan Books publishing. It comes out on August 21.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Reportedly May Have Battle Royale Mode

Update: A new report corroborates Polygon's information about the reported lack of a single player campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, while also revealing the sequel may include a new mode.

Kotaku has reported a source told the outlet Black Ops 4 will include a battle royale mode, a rumored inclusion also reported by Charlie Intel.

No details on the alleged mode are included in Kotaku's report. Of course, games like Fortnite: Battle Royale and PUBG have exploded, attracting millions of players, and as Kotaku notes, studios releasing massive franchises like Call of Duty have yet to really capitalize on the trend.

Avengers 4 Title Won’t Be Unveiled Anytime Soon

According to directors Joe and Anthony Russo, the official title of Avengers 4 won't be announced anytime soon.

In an interview with Yahoo Movies U.K., the filmmakers said they want fans to watch and digest Infinity War before revealing anything about the fourth Avengers movie. "It's going to be quite a long while before people see that title," Joe Russo said. "We need people to see this movie, digest this movie, and then we can tell them what the next story is they’re going to see."

Joe Russo also reaffirmed that Infinity War and Avengers 4 will each have their own distinct stories with a "beginning, middle and an end, in the same way that Civil War handed off to Infinity War and Infinity War will hand off to the next movie."

BioWare Focusing on Story for Anthem

BioWare will focus on delivering an engaging story, world, and characters in Anthem, particularly following the failings of Mass Effect: Andromeda and its lack of story DLC.

In a recent blog post, the studio's general manager Casey Hudson discussed how BioWare will learn from the mistakes it has made with the last Mass Effect title. Hudson touched on how the developer failed to deliver a story DLC about the unresolved plot of the missing Quarian Ark, saying this is something the studio needs to avoid moving forward.

The Walking Dead Finale Ratings Are the Lowest Since Season 1

After eight seasons, AMC's The Walking Dead has been a ratings behemoth, but if Sunday's Season 8 finale is any indication, that reign of television dominance could be coming to an end.

According to Variety, "Wrath," the Season 8 finale, had the lowest finale ratings since Season 1, with a Nielsen score of 3.4 for adults 18-49, which amounts to 7.9 million viewers. Deadpool Getting Pop-Up Bars in Two Major Cities

Deadpool-themed pop-up bars have been announced for two major U.S. cities.

Per THR, the bars are coming to New York City and Los Angeles and are part of a promotional campaign between Fox and beverage company Mike's Harder. Fans 21 and older will only be able to attend.

Octopath Traveler: Two New Protagonists Revealed

Square Enix has announced two new protagonists for Octopath Traveler.

A new trailer has revealed the two new characters are H'aanit the Hunter and Therion the Thief, and new details on Path Actions and Side Stories have been released, so be sure to check the trailer below:

The first new character, H'aanit the Hunter, is on a journey to find her master, who disappeared while pursuing a dangerous monster. Her Path Action is Provoke, which allows her to summon wild animals to attack people. This enables her to chase off enemies, or open paths blocked by hostile forces.

The second new character, Therion the Thief, has been hired by a mysterious client, who tasks him with the theft of a precious gem. His Path Action is Steal, which allows him to take what he wants from almost everyone. This includes items Therion can use to complete quests, as well as rare or unique items, not sold in any store.

Dragon Ball Super has wrapped up, and with Episode 131 going out on such a high note, we wanted to take some time to look back through Super and highlight some of its best moments. While Dragon Ball Super started off a bit rough, it was still able to provide plenty of great scenes that will surely stand the test of time and be fondly remembered well in the future. Its run wasn’t as long as Dragon Ball Z – though that could change if Toei decides to bring Super back – but this look back has us more excited than ever for what the future holds.

Monster Hunter World Adding 16-Player Elder Dragon Hunt

Monster Hunter World's next limited-time event mission launches tomorrow, April 18 at 5 pm Pacific and introduces both a new Elder Dragon and the 16-player Siege mission type.

The target Elder Dragon, Kulve Taroth, is a massive, gilded beast which must be hunted in large teams. As Capcom explained in a blog post, up to 16 players can meet up in the gathering hub social area beforehand and then split into parties of four "to investigate and hunt down the same Kulve Taroth."

"As each hunting party collects more tracks and breaks off more parts from attacking Kulve Taroth, they’ll contribute progress to the same Siege," Capcom explained, adding that Sieges were "designed and balanced for multiplayer."
