Is Netflix Scared of Movie Theaters?

Netflix has reportedly been in talks to purchase the Los Angeles-based Landmark Theater chain for an unknown sum in an attempt to garner more recognition for their films during award season.

According to the Los Angles Times, the streaming provider decided not to pursue the deal further, due to the high asking price. One of the co-owners of Landmark is Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

Even though Netflix has over 125 million subscribers and a reported $146 billion market cap, the company still suffers from a lack of Oscar and Golden Globe prestige for their feature films. For instance, in order for a film to receive Oscar consideration, the movie must play exclusively in New York and Los Angeles theaters for a specific amount of time, according to Business Insider.

With a slightly smaller form factor than a full-sized ATX gaming motherboard, but bigger than Mini-ITX, Micro ATX motherboards omit some features like extra PCIe slots and SATA ports but have enough bells and whistles to allow you to build a serious PC in a smallish enclosure.

Tina Fey Addresses 30 Rock Reboot Rumors

Tina Fey confirmed she's had talks with co-showrunner Robert Carlock about developing a potential 30 Rock reboot.

While appearing last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fey acknowledged the reboot rumors may have started with a comment she made on the red carpet for her new Mean Girls musical.

"Okay, here's what I'll say," Fey said. "So we were on the red carpet for the Broadway opening and someone was like, ‘Would you ever do a 30 Rock reboot?’ And I was like ‘Maybe'. And, like, a little bit of that is on me. I must be so thirsty for Internet attention that I was like, ‘Maybe.'”

Darwin Project Battle Royale Goes Free-to-Play

Scavengers Studio's battle royale game, Darwin Project, is going free-to-play on Steam beginning today, April 20.

Darwin Project was released on Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Preview in early March for $15 USD. However, according to Scavengers Studio, there weren't enough players in certain regions to fill the servers. "We want the game to reach as many players as possible," the studio said, "so we decided to release Darwin Project for free sooner than we anticipated."

The pricing change is currently reflected on Steam, though the Xbox One version is still listed at $15 USD. When asked whether or not the console version will be going free-to-play as well, Scavengers Studio told IGN, "We'll have more to share about Darwin Project on Xbox One soon."
