New to Netflix in May: Pixar’s Coco, Kimmy Schmidt, The Flash, Arrow, and More
Though Netflix might be losing a bunch of Disney properties in May (check out the Last Call list for May here), its current deal with Disney, which gets Disney films on the site six months after their theatrical release, is still in place. At least for a little while longer. Which means we get to stream the Oscar-winning Pixar film Coco at the end of May!
The rest of the month is filled with films like Red Dragon, Hellboy II, Scream 2, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Wanted, and the most recently completed seasons of CW shows Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural, and Riverdale.
And, as always, there's an avalanche of Netflix Originals to sift through. From the fourth season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (which will only air the first half of the season, saving the rest for later in the year) to a pandemic thriller staring Martin Freeman called Cargo to a pandemic thriller starring...some Danish people, called The Rain, to a sci-fi adventure from Gattaca's Andrew Niccol featuring Clive Owen as detective investigating a serial assassin.
Leaving Netflix in May: The Jungle Book, GoodFellas, and More
This May, Netflix will be ditching some classic films like Martin Scorsese's GoodFellas, Ocean's Eleven, and Field of Dreams along with creep-fests Silent Hill and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
Most notably though, the purging of Disney products has begun. With Disney launching its own streaming service in 2019, Netflix is starting to lose Disney properties in large clumps, as you can see here with the loss of Jon Favreau's live-action Jungle Book film and a bunch of TV catalogues - like Camp Rock, Cheetah Girls, High School Musical, Phineas and Ferb, and more.
Sense8 Series Finale Premiere Date Announced
Netflix has announced the premiere date for the Sense8 series finale special, which will wrap up the fan-favorite show after its two-season run.
The finale will debut on the streaming service on June 8. The wrap-up special, first announced last year, will be two hours long. Netflix canceled the sci-fi series in June of last year. Shortly after the news of its cancellation, however, fans campaigned to bring the show back.
Jack Ryan Renewed for Season 2 Before Season 1 Airs
Amazon has renewed Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan before Season 1 premieres this summer.
The company announced the show will return for a second season, which sees the titular CIA analyst confronting the forces of power in a declining democratic regime in South America. Production begins this summer on the second season.
Meanwhile, the first eight-episode season will debut on Amazon Prime on August 31. The story follows Jack (John Krasinski) who, after his first field assignment, "uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale."
For more on Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, find out why Krasinski's version of the character will be funnier and check out IGN's thoughts on the first footage shown during New York Comic Con last year.

The Best Space Opera Movies (That Aren’t Star Wars)
Let's be honest here: When most of us think of space operas, we're really thinking of Star Wars. And with good cause! Star Wars took the oft-maligned genre of the space opera - essentially, an adventurous melodrama in set in outer space and/or on distant planets - and found just the right way to take it seriously. George Lucas took the fantastical locales, costumes and weapons from the old Flash Gordon serials and filtered them through World War II "men on a mission" films (complete with space Nazis), epic samurai dramas and Western fantasy tropes to create a world that was both alien and lived in. You can really believe in the world of Star Wars. That's why it endures to this day.
Alden Ehrenreich Has Signed on for More Movies as Solo
Solo: A Star Wars Story could be the first of several movies starring Alden Ehrenreich as everyone's favorite smuggler, as the actor has revealed he's signed on to appear as Han Solo in three movies.
In an interview with Esquire for its latest cover story, Ehrenreich was asked how many films he's signed up for as Han Solo, to which he replied: "Three." The actor then flinched, before adding, "I don't know if that's officially, uh, public. But—yeah."
Fortnite’s Self-Refund Feature Has Been Disabled Temporarily
Fortnite's latest update introduced a self-refund feature, but the devs are temporarily rolling it back to fix an issue it caused in the short time it was live.
The new self-service cosmetics return feature was added in patch V3.6, and allows players to return cosmetic items for V-bucks within 30 days of purchase. "Due to an issue discovered with the 'Self Refund' feature, we’ll be disabling it until we create a fix and make some usability improvements to the system," Epic Games tweeted.
7 Movies to Watch After You Finish God of War
God of War is out, it’s a masterpiece, and you should play it. But you can’t play it all the time, and when you’re not playing it, we’re guessing you’re thinking about playing it.
If you’re on the bus and your PlayStation is far away, if you’re on your lunch break at work, if your controller’s battery has died, if you’re waiting for Amazon to deliver your PlayStation so you can play God of War... then we recommend watching these movies. Each of these seven films will help you appreciate God of War in a different way.
They’re all contextually or thematically congruent with the games’ marvelous style and story, and they explore many of the same ideas. Most are good, one is bad (we’ll get to that), but every one of these movies will likely enhance your enjoyment of Sony’s modern classic.
What Does That Westworld Cliffhanger Mean?
This story contains spoilers for the Westworld Season 2 premiere and potential spoilers for the rest of the season. For more on the show, check out our review of Westworld Season 2, episode 1, "Journey into Night."
Westworld's Season 2 premiere ended on an ominous cliffhanger, as Bernard and the Delos security team discovered hundreds of seemingly drowned hosts floating in a newly-made sea. Bernard closed the episode by admitting that he believed himself responsible for killing all of the hosts somehow, as the camera lingered on one dead host in particular - Dolores' loyal partner Teddy.
