God of War Nendoroid Somehow Makes Kratos Cute

The grumpiest video game character of all time is getting his own Nendoroid figure, and Good Smile Company's chibi Kratos is just as angry as his in-game counterpart - but infinitely more adorable.

Nendoroid Kratos is based on the most recent instalment in the series, with Kratos sporting his grief beard, axe, and shield.

The axe can be slung across his back or put in his chubby hands to wield against imagined tiny foes. He has a fully articulated body, complete with battle scars, and comes with a "determined expression" and a "battle expression," both of which are ridiculously cute.

Nintendo Gets a New President

Current Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima will retire in June, and will be succeeded by Shuntaro Furukawa.

Furukawa is currently a board member for both Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. He will become Nintendo's sixth president in its 128 years of operation.

At 46, he's a particularly young appointment, which is apparently a purposeful decision on the part of Kimishima, who wanted a successor that could more easily connect with the company's customers.

“We will develop the company to its fullest,” Furukawa said at a news conference (per Bloomberg). “I will balance Nintendo’s traditions: originality and flexibility.”

Overlord Is Not Cloverfield 4, a ‘True’ Cloverfield Sequel Is on the Way

Despite a bunch of rumors, it turns out J.J. Abrams' supernatural World War 2 movie Overlord isn't the next film in the Cloverfield series.

According to Variety, Abrams clarified at CinemaCon that the upcoming film wouldn't continue the Cloverfield story. The film will be the first under the Bad Robot banner to carry an R rating, and follows a group of World War II soldiers facing off against Nazis wielding the supernatural.

Nintendo Labo Variety Kit Review

Constructing a miniature cardboard piano that plays a melodic range of cat meows and old man moans is a long but ultimately enjoyable undertaking. Most of the five cardboard toys in the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit result in this same feeling. The process of following Labo’s step-by-step instructions, which can descend into tedium at times, is saved by the final product: wonderfully weird playthings and the option of more creative tinkering. It’s classic Nintendo silliness with a delightfully crafty feel.

With three distinct sections that urge you to “Make,” “Play,” and “Discover,” there’s plenty to do with Nintendo’s $69 Labo Variety Kit. As the sections progress they take you deeper into the oddly innovative workings behind each cardboard toy, eventually giving you the chance to tailor them however you please in both looks and function. The Variety Kit may look like child's play, but there's a treasure trove of zany secrets and customization hidden below the surface.

A Quiet Place Sequel Already in Development

In news that will surprise nobody, a sequel to this year's unexpected smash horror hit A Quiet Place is in development at Paramount Pictures.

“We’re already working with these guys on a sequel,” studio chairman Jim Gianopulos told exhibitors at CinemaCon (via The Wrap).

In a previous interview with Fandango, A Quiet Place co-screenwriters Bryan Woods and Scott Beck said there was a lot more to explore in its world. "There are so many discarded set pieces, too, just hiding out on Word documents on our computer," Beck said. "So, yeah, there are certainly so many stories you could tell. It's just really, at the end of the day, who are the characters in this and what does this situation mean to that dynamic?"
