Jenova Chen on Whether or Not He Can Top Journey
Thanks to the incredible success of Journey, Jenova Chen and his team at thatgamecompany feel an incredible amount of pressure to meet players' expectations with their next title, Sky.
When asked on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered if he believes Journey is his seminal masterpiece, Chen said he thinks about it quite often, noting how many great film directors' best work was made when they were young, and they were never able to top it. "If you look at The Godfather... even Stanley Kubrick, I wouldn't say his last movie is my favorite," Chen said.
‘What Comes Next’ for Sonic Franchise to Be Revealed in March
Sonic fans will only have to wait until March to find out what comes next for their favorite blue hedgehog.
This year South By Southwest (SXSW) will feature a Sonic panel, titled Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel, which will include a "world-exclusive first look at what comes next for the fastest blue hedgehog", as well as take a look back at Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces.
The panel take place on March 16 from 3:30-4:30 pm at the Austin Convention Center and will feature Sonic Team lead Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Product Development Director Austin Keys, Sonic Mania Animation Director Tyson Hesse, and Sonic Social Media Manager Aaron Webber.
Rime Switch Patch Is So Large Nintendo May Deny It
A patch to improve Rime's performance issues on Switch has been submitted to Nintendo, though it may be denied based on its size.
"Our teams have been working tirelessly to develop a patch that would address some issues that could be resolved through an update," wrote Rime Community Manager Tim Slager on publisher Grey Box's website. "We have QAed the patch and submitted it for approval to Nintendo and are waiting to hear back. The patch is larger than normally permitted, so we may get denied on that basis."
Slager added specific improvements will be announced "if the patch gets approved."
Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed to October
Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed once more, but Rockstar has announced a specific release date of October 26.
In a statement on Rockstar Newswire, a representative wrote:
"We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks."
The Marvel Horror Movies Nobody Talks About
Conventional wisdom says that the age of the Marvel Comics movie began not with Iron Man, not with Spider-Man, and not even with Blade… but with the notorious Lucasfilm box office dud Howard the Duck, way back in 1986.
But there is sometimes a difference between “conventional” wisdom and “actual” wisdom. Because although Howard the Duck was the first live-action theatrical film based on a Marvel superhero, there were several other motion pictures that predate the Howard by several years. They just didn’t go to theaters.
Comic Book Reviews for January 31, 2018
The comic book industry closed out the month of January in a huge way. DC gave us the penultimate chapter of Dark Nights: Metal, the start of their JLA/Doom Patrol crossover and a prelude to the upcoming "Flash War" event. Marvel brought us several steps closer to writer Brian Michael Bendis' big farewell while also publishing a new Last Jedi spinoff and capping off the return of Jean Grey.

Wii Creator to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award
The creator of the Nintendo Wii Genyo Takeda will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 21st D.I.C.E Awards.
The news was revealed by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, the body responsible for presenting the annual award show.
Takeda has been working at Nintendo for over 45 years and is credited for his hand in the development of the Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii systems.
Takeda is also responsible for creating staple Nintendo franchises such as Punch-Out!! and StarTropics, as well as aiding in the development of their subsequent sequels.
Fantastic Beasts 2 Will Not Address Dumbledore’s Sexuality
Fantastic Beasts sequel, The Crimes of Grindelwald, was announced last year, featuring Jude Law as a young Dumbledore, alongside Johnny Depp as the titular villain Gellert Grindelwald. While J.K. Rowling has made no secret of the fact that Dumbledore is gay and was in love with Grindelwald, the film's director, David Yates, has said that the wizard's sexuality will "not explicitly" be addressed in the movie.

Tekken Mobile is Available to Download From Today
Bandai Namco has announced the regional release dates for its Tekken mobile game, as well as unveiling a brand new character who will join the roster.
The game will start rolling out today, and by March 1 it will be available to download worldwide. With over 1.5 million pre-registrations for the title, Bandai Namco is marking the occasion with the new mobile exclusive character, Rodeo.
Bo "Rodeo" Montana is a US marine and former all-state football champion whose unit was ambushed by Revenant, "draining his and all his comrades' physical strength." Rodeo must fight Revenant to replenish his power.
Rodeo has a high HP and long range strikes with a fighting style that mixes MMA with his military combat training. Bandai Namco has confirmed that the two-star Rodeo will be free to all players on March 1.
