Quentin Tarantino Responds to Uma Thurman Kill Bill Crash Allegations

Quentin Tarantino has responded to Uma Thurman's recent Kill Bill crash allegations.

Tarantino sat down with Deadline to discuss his part in Thurman's recently detailed allegations. In a New York Times piece, Thurman discussed a crash during the filming of Kill Bill which left her neck and knees permanently injured. She also discussed how footage of the event was kept from her, and how she alleges the incident was covered up by Harvey Weinstein and other film executives. Thurman originally objected to doing the stunt, because she was led to believe the vehicle might be unsafe.

Dragon Tattoo Sequel Casts Logan Star

Sony's Dragon Tattoo sequel The Girl in the Spider’s Web has reportedly cast Logan star Stephen Merchant.

Variety reports Merchant, who played the mutant Caliban in Logan, has joined the sequel in a mystery role. Norwegian actress Synnøve Macody Lund has also been cast, with details about role being kept under wraps as well.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web is set to open in theaters on November 9. The sequel is being directed by Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe), from a script Alvarez co-wrote with Steven Knight and Jay Basu, based on David Lagercrantz’s book of the same name. It's the fourth novel in the Dragon Tattoo series. Amy Pascal, Elizabeth Cantillon, Scott Rudin, and Yellow Bird are producing.

Game of Thrones Showrunners to Write, Produce Star Wars Movies

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will write and produce a new series of Star Wars films, Lucasfilm announced today.

These new films will be part of a series separate from the ongoing episodic Skywalker saga, as well as the recently announced trilogy of films being developed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Rian Johnson.

“David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today,” Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said in a statement. “Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.”

Risk of Rain Dev’s Deadbolt Release Date Announced

Risk of Rain Developers, Hopoo Games, has announced a release date for the upcoming stealth-action hybrid, Deadbolt, for PS4 and PS Vita.

Deadbolt will release on both PS4 and PS Vita—complete with cross-buy support—on February 20, 2018. Having partnered up once again with Code Mystics, Hopoo Games aims to deliver a violent experience that takes place somewhere between life and death.

Each mission is designed to support diverse playstyles. Players will be able to complete each objective in many different ways, ranging all the way from the ability to use stealthy tactics, or go all-out guns-blazing with flashbang grenades and a shotgun.

After completing each mission, players will earn souls that can be utilized to unlock new weapons which are tailored to your specific play style - including crossbows, scythes, and a semi-auto shotgun.

Wolverine’s Murder Mystery Scripted Podcast Announced

Marvel has released an intense trailer for its first-ever scripted podcast, Wolverine: The Long Night.

You can listen to the trailer here. As detailed by First Comics News, Wolverine: The Long Night is a 10-episode series which will start airing weekly beginning on March 12 exclusively on Stitcher Premium. It will then get a wide release across all platforms in fall 2018. The scripted podcast is a hybrid of mystery and the larger-scale fantasy of the Marvel Universe.

The story follows two agents, Sally Pierce (Celia Keenan-Bolger) and Tad Marshall (Ato Essandoh), investigating a series of grisly murders in the fictional town of Burns, Alaska. Sally and Tad soon discover a serial killer is on the loose, and they team up with deputy Bobby Reid (Andrew Keenan-Bolger) to investigate their main suspect, Logan (Richard Armitage).

E3 Tickets for Sale Beginning Next Week

Tickets to E3 2018 will go on sale Monday, February 12, 2018 at 12 p.m. Eastern, the ESA announced today. Tickets will be available via the official E3 site.

Three types of passes will be available this E3. General attendees will need a gamer pass good for all three days of the event from Tuesday, June 12 through Thursday, June 14. The first 1,000 gamer passes will be sold for $149.

Once the first 1,000 passes are sold, gamer passes will go for $249 until they're sold out. "E3 is open to gamers on a first-come, first-served basis and the number of passes is limited," the registration page reads.

Best Buy Plans to Stop Selling CDs By July

Best Buy is leading the charge towards a digital-only future with the announcement that they'll no longer stock CDs. Or perhaps they're just sick of explaining what a CD is to young whippersnappers who haven't a clue that music can be purchased physically and at retail.

Business Insider UK reports that Best Buy - which used to be one of the biggest retailers for music in the US - plans to pull CDs from all of its stores by July 1.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sequel in the Works

IGN can confirm a Jumanji sequel is in the works at Sony Pictures.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are currently in negotiations to pen the script for the sequel. Director Jake Kasdan is also expected to return as he works with Pinker and Rosenberg on the sequel. The film doesn't have a title, a start date for production, nor a release date yet.

As earlier reports suggested, the sequel is also expected bring back the core ensemble cast of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. Matt Tolmach will produce once again along with Seven Bucks Production's Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Johnson.

Welcome to the Jungle has been a huge commercial hit for Sony, with the film making over $850 million at the worldwide box office and quickly becoming one of 2017's top-grossing movies, including surpassing Justice League and Despicable Me 3. Jumanji author Chris Van Allsburg has also landed a movie deal with 20th Century Fox following the film's success to produce more movies based on his works.
