The Incredibles 2 Gets New Poster

Pixar has revealed a new poster for The Incredibles 2, with Michael Giacchino (Rogue One) starting work on the film's score.

The Incredibles 2 Twitter account shared the poster earlier today with the caption: "Don’t mix your delicates with your indestructibles." It features the Parr family's superhero costumes in a laundry basket. Check out the image below.

Power Rangers Will Air on Nickelodeon for Many More Years

Power Rangers will continue to air on Nickelodeon for many more years.

The network announced it has extended its partnership with Saban Brands to keep Nickelodeon as the official U.S. broadcaster for Power Rangers through 2021. This year, the series celebrates 25 continuous years on the air, making it one of the longest running TV shows ever with nearly 900 episodes aired.

"Saban Brands has been a leader in kids' entertainment since its inception and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship by bringing fans more Power Rangers on Nickelodeon in the coming years," Nickelodeon Group chief marketing officer and president of consumer products Pam Kaufman said.

Miyamoto Talks Working With Minions Studio on Mario Movie

Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed why Nintendo decided to develop a Mario movie with Minions studio Illumination Entertainment.

During a recent Q&A, Miyamoto said Nintendo has long been talking about making a Mario movie by itself. However, after realizing making games is completely different from developing films, Miyamoto decided to enlist help from a renowned movie studio. The Mario creator met with several filmmakers, but Miyamoto clicked with Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri the most.

Nintendo Plans to Extend the Normal Console Lifecycle with the Switch

Nintendo is enjoying a wave of success with the Switch, drowning out the tepid reception of the Wii U, which the Switch has already outsold, just 10 months into its lifecycle. At the company's investor call, director and creative lead Shigeru Miyamoto outlined plans for the console, which are ambitious to say the least. Miyamoto seems confident that the usual console lifecycle of five to six years is something that Nintendo can prolong for the Switch.

"Nintendo also has a system in place whereby the software developers focus on these hardware features in their development efforts for the continuation of the Nintendo Switch business," Miyamoto said in a recent investor Q&A.

Final Fantasy 14’s Eureka Content Detailed in Square Enix Live Stream

Final Fantasy 14's latest DLC, Rise of a New Sun, rolled out in patch 4.2 last month, and is the second major expansion following 2017's Stormblood. Matt "Bayohne" Hilton, from Square Enix's community team, has confirmed that The Forbidden Land - Eureka Anemos will follow in patch 4.25. The content will be similar to Diadem, which wasn't very well received at the time, but Final Fantasy 14's director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, has elaborated on what's in store, and the lessons they learned from Diadem's realease.

Vikings Creator, Martin Scorsese Making Ancient Rome TV Series

Vikings creator Michael Hirst and Goodfellas director Martin Scorsese are developing an ancient Rome TV series.

In an interview with The Guardian, Hirst revealed he is teaming up with Scorsese on a series about the rise of the Roman empire and a young Julius Caesar titled The Caesars. Hirst and Scorsese envision the show as a TV drama lasting several seasons. The show will focus heavily on Julius Caesar's experiences as a young man and ruler, which Hirst believes hasn't really been explored yet on television or film.

“In the movies he’s usually a middle-aged guy, struggling with political complexities," Hirst said, speaking about Julius Caesar. "But he was fantastically interesting and ambitious when he was younger. A lot of the Caesars came to power when they were young, and we’ve never really seen that on screen."

Nintendo’s Teases Their Next Announcement on Their Paid Online Service

Nintendo's managing executive officer, Shinya Takahashi says that there are some aspects of the company's upcoming paid online service that will be "worth the wait." The online service was discussed in an investor Q&A, and Nintendo President, Tatsumi Kimishima, said that the service is going to be just "one component" of the company's plan to "diversify" how their games are played, as well as how they'll get more people to play them.

Nintendo's online paid service for the Switch was initially planned to launch last year, but a delay was announced, pushing it back to 2018. The service is now planned for a September 2018 launch, and we've not had much more information other than the prices for the membership plans and the names of a few titles that will be included in their Classic Game Selection.

UK Retailer Sports Direct Has Plans for Esports Arenas in GAME Deal

Last year, UK retailer Sports Direct, bought a 26% stake in GAME, when the company was struggling on the high street. The company recently doubled down on its investment by buying 50% of GAME's esports division in a £3.2 million deal that will see GAME's Belong in-store arenas roll out into select Sports Direct stores.

GameIndustry.biz reports the acquisition will also see Sports Direct take a 50% share of Belong's profits going forward. Additionally, Sports Direct has provided £55 million in capital to hasten the installation of Belong arenas into Sports Direct outlets.
