Metal Gear Survive Makes You Pay $10 for New Save Slot

Each new character you create in Metal Gear Survive will cost $10 if you don't want to delete your first one.

Keeping your existing character essentially means creating another save file for your new one. And IGN has confirmed that each new save slot costs 1,000 Survival coins. You can buy 1,150 coins for $9.99.

Metal Gear Survive's microtransactions were confirmed last month, but not all details of what you could purchase with them — save files for example — were explained.

Star Wars: Episode IX director J.J. Abrams has confirmed a script for the film is complete.

"We have a script, which is a big deal for me," Abrams said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. When asked when about the start of production, he replied, "It's starts shooting end of July."

Abrams added, "Having a script in advance isn't something I've always been lucky enough to have... but I'm writing this with Chris Terrio, who's a genius, and I'm having a great time."

Abrams, took over as director of Episode IX last year after Colin Trevorrow was dropped from the project. According to Abrams, the chance to conclude the trilogy "was too delicious of an opportunity to pass up."

How Iris’ Speedster Powers Could Change The Flash Forever

Barry Allen and his wife, Iris West-Allen, may describe themselves collectively as The Flash, but in an upcoming episode of the superhero series, it'll be Iris who dons the costume and tackles the villain, when a new meta transfers Barry's super speed to his other half.

In episode 16 of Season 4, titled "Run, Iris, Run," Iris (Candice Patton) will have to suit up and confront Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam) who has the ability to swap people's DNA, while Barry (Grant Gustin) is forced to take a backseat and act as team leader from the safety of STAR Labs -- a switch we're guessing he won't be too thrilled about.

In Defense of Luke Skywalker

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been the most divisive Star Wars film of all time, which is saying something. After the global furor surrounding the prequels, I didn’t think anything could drive a wedge between defenders and detractors more than, say, the gibbering, pandering lunacy that is Jar Jar Binks.

But here we are. Some two months after its release, and The Last Jedi has a critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes of 91%, and a fan rating of 48%. By comparison, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace has critics rating it 55%, and fans… 59%.

Does Black Panther 2 Need a Female Villain?

Please be aware of spoilers ahead for both the Black Panther movie and comics.

As we meander through the universe of Black Panther and yearn to learn more about Wakanda and its lore, it’s time we visit more of the villains and antagonists that T’Challa has had to face. In the film, T’Challa dealt with resistance from a few characters — Erik Killmonger (the main villain), Klaue (the supporting villain) and M’Baku who’s not really a villain per se, but a figure of discord in the film. (M’Baku’s role in the comics, however, was more diabolical.) Then we have our heroes, T’Challa of course along with a ton of female characters! From Shuri to Nakia to General Okoye and her legion of royal protectors whom she commands known as the Dora Milaje, this film has set new heights when it comes to women being represented as centered characters in a superhero film.

Nintendo Partnering With Bloomingdale’s for Clothing Line

Bloomingdale's has announced its spring collection, Let's Play, in collaboration with Nintendo.

It will include a line of clothes for men and women, as well as homeware. Partnered designers include Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith, Gitman Vintage, and Sovereign Code.

Sugarfina candy and S’well water bottles will also be featured in the collection.

“With the 90s nostalgia happening in fashion and pop culture, Nintendo is the perfect partner to take over the Bloomingdale’s spring campaign,” said Kevin Harter, group vice president of integrated marketing. “We are continually trying to enhance our customer experience, and partnering with Nintendo on in-store activation and limited-edition merchandise reinforces the notion that fashion is about having fun.”

Trump: Video Game and Movie Violence ‘Shaping Young People’s Thoughts’

During a meeting on school safety today, President Donald Trump pointed to mature content in video games and movies as a potential cause of youth violence.

"I’m hearing more and more people say the level of violence on video games is really shaping young people’s thoughts," said Trump (via CNN on Twitter). "And then you go the further step, and that’s the movies. You see these movies, and they’re so violent, and yet a kid is able to see the movie if sex isn’t involved, but killing is involved, and maybe they have to put a rating system for that."

The remark regarding a rating system for movies suggests that Trump may be unaware of the existence of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and its rating system of G, PG, R, and NC-17, which has been in use since November of 1968. (The PG-13 rating was added in 1984.) It's possible Trump was suggesting a government-run rating system to replace the MPAA, and potentially the ESRB, which rates video games.

Joss Whedon Exits DC’s Batgirl Movie

Warner Bros.' upcoming Batgirl movie will no longer be directed by Joss Whedon.

In a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter, Whedon, who was attached to write and direct the DC movie, said he left the project because he couldn't come up with a story.

"Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC

such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn't have a story," he said. "I'm grateful to Geoff
