Burnout Paradise HD Remaster Seemingly Announced for Japan

'Burnout Paradise HD Remaster' (a tentative title) will seemingly be released for PS4 in Japan on March 16 - which hopefully means we'll be getting it worldwide too.

On Twitter, Renka_schedule (a game scheduling Wiki) revealed a Japanese format and release date for the classic open world racer/smasher.

As Gematsu points out, listings for PS4 and Xbox One versions dated for March were spotted in December. It's looking more and more likely that we'll be taken back to Paradise City this year.

Captain Marvel Casts DeWanda Wise in Supporting Role

DeWanda Wise has joined the cast of Captain Marvel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wise will have a supporting role in the upcoming MCU movie. The actress stars as Nola Darling in the Netflix series She's Gotta Have It. She also appeared in last year's crime drama Shots Fired, as well as the history drama Underground.

Ridley Scott May Direct Disney’s Merlin Saga

Ridley Scott may direct a movie based on Merlin for Disney.

Variety reports Scott is in talks with Disney for The Merlin Saga, and it may be the filmmaker's next project with Philippa Boyens (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) penning the script. Scott’s production company Scott Free is also in negotiations to produce the movie.

While not much is currently known about The Merlin Saga, it is said to be based on T.A. Barron's novel series, which follows a young Merlin becoming a mentor to King Arthur. It is one of two movies Disney is currently developing based on the character, with the other one being a live-action remake of 1963's Sword in the Stone. Scott has met with Disney about this project as well.

Animaniacs Ordered for Two-Season Revival on Hulu

Animaniacs is getting a two-season revival on Hulu, the company announced today.

Hulu is teaming up with Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Television to bring back the Peabody Award-winning animated comedy. New episodes will begin rolling out sometime in 2020 in what will be Hulu's first family-oriented original series.

The new seasons will once again focus on Warner brothers Yakko and Wakko and sister Dot. The trio has escaped Warner Bros. water tower after being locked up in there for quite a while. With their new-found freedom, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot begin causing plenty of chaos. Fan-favorite characters Pinky and the Brain will also make appearances in each new episode.

OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes Game Release Date

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes, a game based on the Cartoon Network animated series of the same name, is coming out on January 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in North America and Europe.

The title is being developed by Capybara Games, the studio behind Super Time Force and the upcoming Below, in collaboration with the show's creator Ian Jones-Quartey. It is a mix of side-scrolling beat-‘em-up action and adventure gameplay. Check out the new trailer below:

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes tells an original story about the evil Lord Boxman and his robot army resetting the card levels of every hero in Lakewood Plaza Turbo. It's up to K.O. to help his friends and put a stop to Lord Boxman's evil plans.

Insidious Co-Creator’s 10 Favorite Haunted House Movies

You can't get much more Insidious than Leigh Whannell, but please, take that as a compliment. The actor, writer and director co-created the blockbuster Insidious horror movie franchise along with his old film school pal, James Wan.

Leigh Whannell has written every single Insidious movie, co-starred in all of them as the nerdy ghost hunter "Specs," and even directed the third installment before handing the reins over to Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan) for Insidious: The Last Key, which arrives in theaters this weekend.

In other words, Leigh Whannell's horror credentials are very well-established. So let's pick his brain clean, and get him to recommend his ten favorite haunted house movies. Some of his picks might surprise you, some might not even technically be "haunted house movies" (if you want to get geeky about it), but many of them influenced the Insidious franchise that horror fans love so much, and all of them are worth seeking out.

Black Lightning premieres Tuesday, January 16 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. The show will air during DC's Legends of Tomorrow's usual time slot. As such, Supergirl will take a nine-week break while Legends of Tomorrow assumes its time slot to finish out its third season.

Family Guy Will Air Extended Stewie-Oriented Episode

Family Guy will air an extended-length episode focusing on Stewie.

The episode, titled "Send in Stewie, Please," will premiere with limited commercials on FOX on March 11 at 9pm ET/PT. The story follows Stewie (Seth MacFarlane), who, after pushing one of his classmates, gets sent to his school's child psychologist, Dr. Cecil Pritchfield (guest voiced by Sir Ian McKellen).

During Stewie's session with Dr. Cecil Pritchfield, he experiences a series of emotional and personal revelations about himself.

Game of Thrones Final Season Release Year Confirmed

Game of Thrones will officially return for its eighth and final season in 2019, HBO announced today.

The hit HBO drama will take 2018 off and return for a six-episode final season next year. However HBO has not confirmed an exact premiere date as of this time.

HBO also announced the directors for the season, with David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik returning to helm episodes in the final season. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will also be directing this season. Benioff & Weiss, Bryan Cogman, and Dave Hill are confirmed as writers for Season 8.

Sapochnik has directed several episodes of the show, including "Hardhome," "Battle of the Bastards," and "The Winds of Winter," while Nutter directed "The Rains of Castamere," "Mother's Mercy," and others. Benioff and Weiss have previously directed as well on the series with "Two Swords."
