How Rampage Hopes to Avoid the “Video Game Curse” – IGN First
All month long, IGN First is spotlighting the Films to Watch in 2018. Today, we take a look at Warner Bros.'s Rampage, the Dwayne Johnson-starring adaptation of the arcade classic from San Andreas director Brad Peyton.
There were three characters Rampage's director Brad Peyton knew he needed to get right when it came time to adapt the '80s Bally Midway arcade classic for the big screen: the giant gorilla, the giant wolf and the giant lizard. Everything else he is building from the ground up for this new summer action flick.
Check out an exclusive new photo from Rampage below:
Assassin’s Creed: Origins Will Get a New Game Plus Mode
A New Game Plus mode is coming to Assassin's Creed: Origins.
The news was revealed on the Assassins Creed subreddit, where community manager Dominik Voigt responded to a post praising Origins' latest DLC The Hidden Ones.
"New Game + is coming. We'll have more information to share soon."
The mode has been heavily requested by fans since the game's release, and it looks like Ubisoft has been listening.
Assassin's Creed Origins received its first major DLC pack last week with The Hidden Ones, a prequel to the story featuring Brotherhood forces facing off against the Romans in the all-new location of the Sinai.
Monster Hunter World: 5 Million Copies Shipped in 3 Days
In the three days since launch, Capcom has shipped over 5 million copies of Monster Hunter: World.
Capcom announced the figure, which includes digital sales. It is worth bearing in mind that "shipped" is slightly different to "sold" for physical copies, in that it means units sent to retailers, not paid for by consumers - but it bodes well.
Earlier this month, DualShockers reported that Japanese gaming industry veteran, Hirokazu Hamamura, predicted that Monster Hunter: World would sell 10 million units worldwide long-term, taking into account the PC release slated for this Fall.
How to Be a Real-Life Monster Hunter
Capcom's offering a £50,000 prize to anyone that can offer conclusive evidence for the existence of ten real-world monsters. I’m pretty strapped for cash so, with that in mind, I traveled to South-West England in order to meet a bona fide cryptozoologist, learn the tricks of the trade and bag myself a beast.
Unfortunately for me and my wallet, my boss said that I had to actually do some work while I was away. So, with some reluctance, I present to you a foolproof guide to becoming a real-life monster hunter.
Capcom Offering £50,000 for Evidence of Real-Life Monsters
To celebrate the release of Monster Hunter: World, Capcom is offering £50,000 ($70,000 USD) to anyone who can provide conclusive evidence of one of 10 real-life monsters.
Partnering with Jon Downes of The Centre of Fortean Zoology, Capcom is giving hunters until June 30 to provide verifiable evidence of everything from Bigfoot to The Cornish Owlman.
You can see all 10 possible catches in the gallery below, along with Downes' description of each one:
Downes and his team will analyse the evidence sent in, with any conclusive submissions awarded the prize (with the full amount shared if there are multiple winners).
"I’ve spent the majority of my life travelling across the globe to hunt for evidence of these creatures," said Downes. "Although I have had some successes, I have yet to find that elusive proof and it is time for me to offer my help as I throw down the gauntlet to the next generation.”

Elon Musk’s ‘Sentient’ Flamethrower Could Be in Borderlands 3
Elon Musk's flamethrower could be making an appearance in the next Borderlands game.
Musk tweeted about the new $500 consumer tool from his Boring Company brand, jokingly adding that it was sentient, had a safe word ("cryptocurrency") and came with a free blockchain.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford reached out to Musk to ask him if he could implement his creation in Borderlands 3:
Sure
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 29, 2018
Borderlands is known for its novelty sentient weaponry so this seems like a perfect fit. Pitchford offered to lift the flavour text from one of Musk's tweets if he didn't have any suggestions himself.

Capcom has come forward to address Monster Hunter World's matchmaking issues on Xbox One.
"Hello Hunters, we're aware of the Xbox matchmaking issues and dev team is actively investigating it, we'll update you as soon as we can," a post on the official Monster Hunter Twitter account said.
Monster Hunter World launched on January 26. Reports of matchmaking issues surfaced that day on Reddit, with a large number of Xbox One players saying they're having trouble connecting with friends online. Prior to the game's release, an open beta was held exclusively on PlayStation 4.
