Disney Sues Redbox Over Digital Movie Download Codes
Disney is reportedly suing Redbox for allegedly selling digital versions of its films that reportedly have been removed from movie combo packs.
Disney sells movie combo packs that include a Blu-ray disc, a DVD, and a code that users can redeem through online stores. These codes are explicitly listed as "not for sale or transfer," and yet the media giant alleges this is exactly what Redbox is doing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
If true, that would mean that Redbox is violating the terms and conditions of purchase of Disney movie combo packs by selling the codes at its rental kiosks, which span the United States. Disney also claims selling digital codes without its authorization is a violation of the false advertising law in California.

EA Clarifies Use of Microtransactions in UFC 3
Update: EA has provided IGN with details about the use of microtransactions included in UFC 3 as noted via the game's beta, which the publisher has also now made available to everyone on PS4 and Xbox One through Dec. 4.
IGN incorrectly stated the scope and use of microtransactions in a previous version of this article. IGN regrets the error and has updated the story with accurate details and statements from EA.
Electronic Arts has invited select players to try out the EA Sports UFC 3 beta, and details about the game's microtransaction system have emerged.
Reports ahead of the beta going open from sites like Astute Gaming reported the use of purchasable rare boosters, which are found in loot crates that allow players to improve fundamental moves like submissions and grappling. All of the techniques, fighters, and abilities are said to be acquired and upgraded through UFC 3's loot box system, according to the report.

Get ready to return to Hawkins, because Netflix has confirmed Season 3 of Stranger Things is happening.
Netflix ran a poll on Twitter, asking fans if it should make another season of the popular sci-fi show. Shortly thereafter the company confirmed it's coming, saying, "FOR THE LOVE OF STEVE, DUH! So hold tight baby darts — season 3 is officially happening."
No premiere date was announced, and details about what Season 3 might focus on have yet to be revealed.
The series is created by The Duffer Brothers, who will direct and executive produce. Shawn Levy is also on board, as are Dan Cohen and Iain Patterson. This year, Stranger Things received 18 Emmy nominations and won five.

The Best Movies That Made the Least Money
Box office returns don’t always line up with a film’s quality. There are plenty of terrible movies that make a ton of money, like the universally panned Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, which somehow made over $107 million worldwide. And sometimes great movies tank at the box office, like this year’s Blade Runner 2049, which only took in $90.3 million from U.S. theaters on a reported budget of more than $150 million.
But box office does not equate quality. And so, in honor of that grand tradition, here are 11 more great movies that lost tons of money...
Ridley Scott's science fiction masterpiece got very little love from audiences when it first hit theaters. It netted just $32.9 million (including re-releases after its 1982 debut), barely more than its $28 million reported budget. Factoring in marketing and other costs not reflected in the budget, this classic most certainly did not make back its investment at the box office.
Marvel Comics’ Big Missed Opportunity
Marvel Legacy is the publisher’s latest relaunch, an attempt to course correct by embracing its most beloved classic elements. Borrowing a move from DC Rebirth, Marvel showed how they’re going to do that with an oversized one-shot, Marvel Legacy #1 by Jason Aaron, Esad Ribic and various artists, that set up several exciting plot lines. However, Marvel has already missed a huge opportunity.
Warning: beware of spoilers for Marvel Legacy #1!
The big events in the one-shot included the debut of a new Avengers team from 1,000,000 B.C., a glimpse of the children of Fantastic Four’s Reed and Sue Richards after a long absence, and the return of Wolverine from the dead, but here's the thing: this all happened two months ago and there are still no comics to buy that immediately follow up on any of it.
DC Movie Veteran to Direct He-Man Film
Sony wants a DC movie veteran to helm the Masters of the Universe reboot.
TheWrap reports David S. Goyer, the writer behind Christoper Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman, is in talks to direct the He-Man film. Goyer also wrote the most recent draft of the script. The movie will hit theaters on December 18, 2019.
Goyer will be replacing McG, who left the project earlier this year. There's still no news regarding casting, including who might play the warrior Prince Adam (He-Man).
