Past Cure Isn’t Heavy Rain, But It Still Hopes to Be Intriguing
Past Cure doesn’t pretend to be what it isn’t – meaning a big-budget, AAA game. It’s being made by a startup studio of eight people, and it’s priced at $30. That it has similarities to Heavy Rain is more of a coincidence than anything else; its developers note that both they and Quantic Dream are Europe.
That the main character even looks like Heavy Rain’s Ethan? Well...that’s a bit weird, I suppose.
I played a few sections of Past Cure – a cinematic action-adventure game about a man who wakes up three years after being experimented on, with no memories of that time but also with psychic powers. Is it particularly pretty? No. Is the voice acting very good? Not really. But still, I want this story-driven tale, which the developers say is good for about 8-10 hours of gameplay, to be good. And it’s because I like the concept.
Her Story Developer Creating Episodic #WarGames Series
The interactive series #WarGames, helmed by Her Story creator Sam Barlow, has gotten a release date of early 2018.
Variety reports the episodic series, announced a few years ago, is based on the 1983 film of the same starring Matthew Broderick, where Broderick stars as a hacker who discovers a game of global thermonuclear war.
Barlow has been working on the series with interactive-media startup Eko. #WarGames is said to be conceptually based on the film but more heavily takes inspiration from Mr. Robot. The series follows a few young hackers who become involved in government conspiracy and espionage. Viewers will assume the role of the lead character Kelly, directing the story and making choices for her along the way.

Marvel’s Iron Fist: Alice Eve Joins Cast of Season 2
Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness) has joined Season 2 of Marvel's Iron Fist in "an undisclosed role."
The only (small) hint regarding Eve's role comes from Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of television, who said the actor "brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else," according to Marvel.
Superhot Expansion DLC Announced
Superhot: Mind Control Delete was revealed today with a brief teaser trailer and will be coming to Steam Early Access on December 7th.
Time puzzling shooter Superhot will get a brand new expansion titled, Superhot: Mind Control Delete, it was revealed today by SUPERHOT team. Although details are scarce and the reveal trailer does little more than whet the appetite, the game’s Steam Page does reveal a few things including a 9-12 month release window and an early access beta on December 7, 2018.
In the biggest departure from the game's first installment, players will get to play as multiple characters with different abilities, while gameplay will now be more akin to the procedural generation of a roguelike. The expansion will be free to existing owners and priced the same as existing Superhot games for those who are new to the franchise. No details have been released regarding whether this expansion will make its way onto consoles.
Bridge Constructor Portal Is Bridge Constructor Meets Portal
Bridge Constructor, the physics-based game where you're tasked with building bridges for cars and trucks, is being mashed up with Portal, the physics-based game where you use Portals to solve puzzles.
Both games are excellent at spelling out their main gameplay hook right in the title, so it's no surprise Bridge Constructor Portal lets you construct bridges and use portals.
Bridge Constructor Portal combines "the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories" to create a standalone game. Among the Aperture technology is GladOS, who holds you under her "demanding gaze," according to the press release.
If you have a PC, you can start playing as early as December 20, and it also lands on mobile devices the same day. Console versions are planned and are scheduled to release "in early 2018."
Pokemon Go: Trading, PvP Still ‘on the Roadmap’
Trading and PvP battles are still in the cards for Pokemon Go.
Speaking to IGN in the wake of today’s Pokemon Go generation 3 and dynamic weather announcement, Niantic global product marketing lead Archit Bhargava explained that the team is always considering new features and how to prioritize them.
“Trading was mentioned in the initial launch trailer of the game, so that is definitely something that we want to get to at some point,” Bhargava told IGN. “I think the priority has always been, you know, what is the feature that we can launch now that we feel will get the community excited and energized. So we do continue to talk about some of the features that you mentioned, and they are on the roadmap. We just haven’t fully investigated those and talked about how would we want to bring those into Pokemon Go. So that is definitely something that we’re focused on.”

Pokemon Go Adds 50 Gen 3 Pokemon, Weather System
More new Pokemon from the Hoenn region are coming to Pokemon Go.
Niantic announced today that more than 50 Pokemon that originally appeared in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are headed to Go, including Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Wailord, Swablu, Snorunt, Cacnea, Salamence, Feebas, and many more. Additional Pokemon from Hoenn will be added “in the coming weeks.”
Beyond the new Pokemon, Niantic also announced a new update for Pokemon Go that will add a dynamic weather system. Weather conditions will now impact the game in a variety of ways, such as making Pokemon more likely to appear in weather conditions that suit them (for example, more water-type Pokemon will spawn in-game when it’s raining in the real world). Weather conditions will also impact Pokemon CP, making certain types stronger or weaker depending on the weather.
