MoviePass Lowers Price Again Temporarily
After drastically reducing its price earlier this year, the theatrical subscription service MoviePass has lowered its subscription price to under $7 a month temporarily.
MoviePass announced a new one-year subscription plan that costs $89.95 (which includes a $6.55 processing fee) and it will only be offered for a limited time. This deal nets out to under $7 a month, however, you'll have to pay for that one year price in advance.
Existing MoviePass customers who subscribed because of the recent price drop to $9.95 per month will be able to receive a 25% discount from their current plan if they choose to subscribe to the one-year, lump sum plan.
Marvel Comics Names New Editor-in-Chief
Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Alex Alonso has stepped down from his role, and now C.B. Cebulski, Marvel’s VP of international brand management, will be taking his place.
Alonso began as EiC in 2011 and went on to oversee Marvel events such as Avengers vs. X-Men, The Death of Wolverine, and Secret Wars, as well as the highly controversial and under-performing Secret Empire that saw Captain America become an evil agent of Hydra. Popular new characters Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Man Miles Morales were all created and put at the forefront of Marvel’s publishing during his tenure.
The president of Marvel Entertainment, Dan Buckley, told the New York Times that Alonso’s departure was a “mutually agreed upon parting of ways,” and went on to praise Alonso for leading the company to “some of our top two or three sales years of all time.”
How the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Loot Crate Disaster Got This Bad
This should be an exciting time for Electronic Arts. Star Wars Battlefront 2 — one of the company's most highly-anticipated games of the year is finally available. But so much of the excitement has been buried under an avalanche of fan outrage surrounding the game’s loot crates and unlockables. How did things get this bad? Let’s track EA’s many missteps as they developed.
We first got wind of a Star Wars Battlefront sequel in a way that seems fitting in hindsight: it came during an investor call in May 2016, as EA was discussing its financial outlook. Money — specifically, microtransactions — would play a key role in the Battlefront 2 disaster to come.

Your Name Director ‘Not Much Interested’ in Live-Action Film
Director Makoto Shinkai recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming live-action adaptation of his hit anime film Your Name, saying he's "not much interested" in how Hollywood ultimately handles the project.
"People often compare their creation to their child, but I'm not much interested in how my child would be treated," Shinkai said during a press event ahead of the opening of the "Exhibition of Shinkai Makoto" at the National Art Center in Tokyo, Oricon News reports (translation via Crunchyroll).
Who Does Edge Think Will Win at WWE Survivor Series?
With Survivor Series airing this Sunday, November 19th on WWE Network, I asked former multi-time world champ and WWE Hall of Famer, Adam Copeland - aka Edge - about his personal pick for the AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar "Champ vs. Champ" main event.
Copeland can be seen on History's Vikings this season -- which premieres Wednesday November 29th -- as Kjetill Flatnose, a stalwart warrior chosen by Floki to be one of the leaders of a group traveling to Iceland (my full interview with him about Vikings will post premiere week). In the meantime, you can hear Copeland, along with Jay Reso (WWE's Christian) on E&C's Pod of Awesomeness (iTunes, Google Play) where the two best friends, and occasional guests, talk about the wrestling business.

Why Cuphead Is Such a Challenging Game
Cuphead lead game director Jared Moldenhauer recently explained why the run and gun action game is so challenging, highlighting Studio MDHR's commitment to creating an experience that they would want to play.
"From the beginning we were like, 'We want this to be a game that we would really like to look at, that we would really like to play, and more of an homage to the older era too, which means the difficulty has to be somewhat challenging,'" Jared said on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered.
Once they settled on that design philosophy, Jared said they watched people play the game to determine the capabilities of other players and whether or not something was too difficult. He noted that watching fans play the game at events was quite helpful in this regard, and that he and art director Chad Moldenhauer have several friends who play games they were able to gather feedback from as well.
The Last Jedi Will Be the Longest Star Wars Film
Director Rian Johnson has confirmed that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be the longest film in the franchise so far, coming in at 150 minutes (2 and a half hours) including credits.
The longest Star Wars film was previously The Revenge of the Sith at 140 minutes. The Force Awakens came in at a (relatively) slimmer 124 minutes.
Speaking at a press conference in Paris attended by IGN France, Johnson also said that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards would have a cameo in the new film.
However, he wouldn't confirm the long-standing rumour that Prince William would make a background appearance as a Stormtrooper.
