Battlefront 2’s Microtransactions Pulled After Disney Concern
Electronic Arts' decision to pull microtransactions from Star Wars Battlefront II just before the game's launch reportedly came in the wake of concerns from Disney.
Bob Iger, Disney's chief executive, was "alarmed" by the backlash from fans over how Battlefront II's microtransactions were implemented, The Wall Street Journal heard from a "person familiar with the matter." As a result, Jimmy Pitaro, the head of consumer products and interactive media at Disney, contacted EA, detailing the company's concerns about the situation.

History of the Justice League on TV
If you’re anything like us, you’ve been waiting your whole life to finally see a live-action movie based on the Justice League. And if you’re anything like us, you sometimes forget that although this new film is a major motion picture event, it’s only the latest in a very long line of adaptations… if you include TV, anyway.
The Justice League of America has been a regular presence on the tube since the early 1970s, when a family-friendly version brought beloved characters like Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman together for the first time on television, and helped turn lesser-known characters into household names. And ever since they’ve pretty much been television institutions, taking a well-deserved break throughout most the 1990s (don’t judge, so did Doctor Who) and coming back with a vengeance right afterwards.
Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV Hands-On Preview
I confess I’m not really the outdoors-y type. The closest I’ve come to the wilderness is a day trip to Yosemite and a few picnics held beneath the towering redwoods of Muir Woods. Yet when I was asked to try out a new virtual reality fishing game, I lept at the chance. Not because I suddenly fancied myself a top-tier angler. Rather, because it’s a Final Fantasy fishing game, and the prospect of reeling in aquatic specimens while hobnobbing with Final Fantasy XV’s “fab four” (Noctis, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus), seemed too enjoyable an opportunity to pass up.
Thus, for the next 7 hours I cast my line into various watering holes around Eos, hunting “Daemon” fish and conversing with familiar Final Fantasy XV characters also out for a day of piscatory fun. Was it enjoyable? Well, it certainly caused a ripple of excitement (I could practically reach out and pet the giant Catoblepas in front of me!), but I’m hard pressed to say it really hooked me. (I’m so sorry. Fishing puns were inevitable.)

Star Wars: 35 Years of the Battle of Hoth
With the release of Battlefront 2, IGN wanted to look back on the most iconic of Star Wars battles: the Battle of Hoth. Taking place in the opening minutes of The Empire Strikes Back, the Battle of Hoth has endured in our imaginations because of its stark, white landscape and its brave depiction of an outgunned Rebel Alliance trying to hold off the evil Empire against overwhelming odds. While a decided victory for the Empire, the rebels' ability to evacuate (after the sacrifice of many) allowed them to fight another day. Here are just some of the many video game depictions of the Battle of Hoth.
This early attempt at recreating the Battle of Hoth features rudimentary pastel graphics and a very simple version of the AT-AT vs snowspeeder dynamic. Alas, we’d have to wait years before we’d tauntauns, wampas, or droids.
