U.S. Legislator Wants to Limit Sale of Games With Loot Boxes in Wake of Battlefront II

Hawaii State Representative Chris Lee is taking a stand against what he calls "the spread of predatory practices in online gaming."

As mentioned in an announcement specifically about EA and Star Wars Battlefront II, Lee and others are currently "looking at legislation" in the upcoming year that could prohibit the sale of games to players that are under 21 years of age, and possibly even restrict the inclusion of gambling elements, which Lee believes are present in Star Wars Battlefront II via the game's loot boxes.

Tencent to Localize PUBG for China

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is coming to China, and there are changes coming to the popular survival game.

Chinese gaming company Tencent Holdings will alter the game to bring it more in line with socialist culture and values, according to Reuters.

Last month China's content regulator criticized the violence in PUBG, saying it would likely be blocked because it "severely deviates from socialist core values."

Tencent says it won the exclusive rights to PUBG in China, and will alter the game to meet China's exacting standards.
