Switch Expected to Outsell Wii U’s Lifetime Total by 2018

Nintendo projects Switch will sell 14 million units by the end of March 2018, which would surpass Wii U's lifetime sales total of 13.56 million units.

The company's updated forecast, released as part of its most recent financial report, shows Nintendo expects to nearly double Switch's current sales total of 7.63 million units in the next six months. (Note: This latest Switch figure doesn't account for October sales.)

Following strong hardware sales throughout 2017—the console has topped the NPD charts in four of the six months of its availability—Nintendo's new estimate for Switch is up 40 percent from its previous forecast of 10 million units sold by next March.

The Walking Dead: Who is the Old Familiar Face Rick Met?

Warning: Full spoilers for the twist from the end of the most recent Walking Dead, "The Damned."

With The Walking Dead's 100th episode, "Mercy," paying subtle tribute to the first episode of the series, "Days Gone Bye," it's no surprise that this week's episode pulled from Season 1 as well. It was a shocking wayback twist that brought Juan Gabriel Pareja's Morales back to the show for the first time since leaving everyone behind in the first season's penultimate episode, "Wildfire."

Morales, for those who need a refresher, was one of the original cast members of the show. He, along with wife Miranda and children Eliza and Louis, were a part of the Atlanta-adjacent survivor group that included Lori, Shane, Carl, the Dixon brothers, Carol and her family, Dale, Andrea, and Amy.

James Gunn Sick of The Fighting Over BvS

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has had enough of people arguing about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

In a Twitter thread, Gunn pointed out that every time he mentions DC his timeline inevitably fills up with people getting into heated arguments over the divisive film.

"Every time I mention anything DC, no matter what, my feed becomes an endless screaming match about BvS," Gunn said. "You guys are never going to convince each other - it’s just a bunch of wasted energy. At least when you’re screaming at each other about Trump, it’s something of international importance. But it’s a 2 year old movie that some people like and some people don’t. Why is someone else’s opinion so important to you. As Marvel and DC super fans you have way more in common with each other than you do with the rest of the world. So why do you spend so much time raging at each other? It’s silly. Please just stop it. Stop engaging in that way.

Ava Duvernay Powerfully Addresses Sexual Assault in Hollywood

A Wrinkle in Time director Ava Duvernay called out Hollywood's sexual assault problem while accepting the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing at the AMD British Academy Britannia Awards.

As the accusations against sexual predator and disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein continued to pile up last week, Duvernay called out the abuse of actors "an abuse of a very singular kind".

"I regard the bond between a director and an actor as sacred," DuVernay said. "Because if we do it right, we're in a union, a creative marriage, creating life together. So to imagine what's been in the news this week, the harmful manipulation and harassment and emotional violence towards actors in my view is sinful. Sinful because I've held the innermost feelings of an actor in my hand."

Jigsaw topped the domestic box office in its debut this weekend, earning an estimated $16.3 million.

The horror film, which serves as the eighth entry in the Saw franchise, performed a bit below projections, which anticipated a $20 million opening weekend. Jigsaw reportedly cost $10 million to produce and garnered a B CinemaScore from moviegoers.

It's been seven years since a new entry in the Lionsgate's horror series, following the release of Saw 3D: The Final Chapter in 2010. For our thoughts on Jigsaw, watch IGN's video review below:

Stranger Things: Season 2 Ending Explained

Full spoilers follow for Stranger Things: Season 2. Make sure to keep up with all of our Season 2 reviews here. And again, don't keep reading if you haven't already seen the end of Season 2!

The ending of Stranger Things Season 2 is setting up a much more extensive universe for its writers to explore in future seasons. Seeing the Mind Flayer alive and well in the Upside Down indicates that he has now entered the realm of “supervillain.” Much like a video game or epic fantasy tale, this creature is going to be the big-bad the kids of Hawkins are going to have to battle at the end of the series. In other words, he’s not your typical villain of the week. So, what does that mean going forward and how will Eleven and the rest of the gang defeat such a formidable foe?
