The X-Files May Bring Back Familiar Actor for Season 11
It looks like we may see Robert Patrick reprise his role as Agent John Doggett in season 11 of The X-Files.
In an interview with TVLine, the series creator Chris Carter revealed that Doggett was originally going to appear in an early episode of Season 11.
“I actually wrote him into an episode,” Carter explained. “But then I found out he wasn’t going to be available to us
so I had to write him out of the episode… Scorpion is his first priority.”
Carter then teased fans by adding “That’s not to say you won’t see him this season…”
Patrick is also on board to step back into the role, according to TVLine and has confirmed that conflicting schedules with his TV drama Scorpion were what kept him from reappearing earlier.

Injustice 2 Director Discusses Possibility of Switch Version
Injustice 2 creative director Ed Boon thinks it may be possible to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch, but a few compromises would have to be made.
In an interview with GameSpot, Boon discussed the possibilities of a Switch version of the fighting game. According to the creative director, while a Switch port could happen, it may come with some technical shortcomings.
"Yeah, I think at the end of the day you can make almost any game... there are inevitable compromises, but you know, you can make some version of Injustice on the Atari 2600," said Boon. "It's not going to be great, but I bet you can make something."
Shadow of War Exploit Lets Players Get Unlimited Loot Boxes
An exploit in Monolith's latest Middle-earth adventure Shadow of War allows players to get unlimited loot boxes.
PC Gamer reports players on PC can generate the in-game currency Mirian using Cheat Engine scripts. While it's not the premium purchasable currency, Mirian still allows players to purchase silver chests, giving them infinite loot and uruks.
Cheat Engine is a third-party tool allowing players to make changes to game files. This kind of player-based alteration has been a long-standing tradition among PC gamers, however, the rise of online requirements and microtransactions has seen a significant decline.
EA Addresses Battlefront 2 Loot Crates, Shares Beta Feedback
EA has addressed feedback from the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta, including issues around loot crates.
In a post thanking players for engaging with the beta, EA discusses likely changes that will appear in the full game.
One of the most contentious issues in the beta was the use of loot crates, which raised fears the game might be pay-to-win. EA has attempted to clarify what these crates will do in the full game.
Star Cards, Outfits, Emotes and Victory Poses will all be available in loot crates, purchasable with both in-game credits and premium currency.
Dragon Age Creative Director Mike Laidlaw Leaves BioWare
Veteran BioWare game designer and Senior Game Director Mike Laidlaw left his position with the company.
Laidlaw made the public announcement on his personal Twitter account, saying "it's time for me to move on." Laidlaw has been with the company for 14 years, working on huge BioWare games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
"It's been an honor to be a part of the Dragon Age team," he said in his statement. No immediate future plans were laid out beyond "reconnecting with all the amazing games and worlds" video gaming has to offer.
In June, another force behind the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises, Aaryn Flynn, left BioWare after 17 years. The project director on the original Mass Effect, Casey Hudson, took over as BioWare's new general manager.

The Settlers of Catan Movie Adaptation Is Happening
Sony is fast-tracking a movie adaptation of the popular multiplayer strategy board game, The Settlers of Catan.
Variety reports Sony is in negotiations to acquire the film rights and will be working with producer Gail Katz (Air Force One, The Perfect Storm) on the project. It was reported back in 2015 that Katz secured the film and TV rights to the strategy game.
Blaise Hemingway (Ugly Dolls) will write the screenplay for the film, titled Catan, with Dan Lin (It, The Lego Movie) and Jonathan Eirich producing alongside Katz. Sony is reportedly said to be interested in launching a possible franchise.
Epic Games Launches Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Against Fortnite Cheaters
Anyone who has played Epic Games' incredibly popular Fortnite Battle Royale knows that cheaters have quickly become a major problem. Epic has taken a number of steps to counteract cheating, including new lawsuits against two repeat cheaters.
According to documents obtained by TorrentFreak, Epic launched lawsuits against two alleged cheaters, Mr. Broom and Mr. Vraspir, who have been caught cheating and banned multiple times, yet continue to make new accounts to play. Epic's complaints point out that cheating, and enabling others to cheat, is in violation of the terms and agreements players must agree to before accessing the game.
Thor: Ragnarok Tracking For Franchise-Best Opening
Thor: Ragnarok is on track to have the biggest opening in the history of the series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third Thor film from Marvel and Disney is expected to make between $90 million and $100 million over the November 3-5 weekend.
The first Thor movie opened to $65.7 million, while Thor: Dark World made $85.7 million. And if the projections hold true for Rangarok, it would appear there's little Thor fatigue setting in for viewers.
Thor: Ragnarok, which is directed by Taika Waititi, sees Chris Hemsworth returning as the Norse god of war. In this film, he is teaming up with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to fight Hela, the goddess of death (Cate Blanchett). Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins are all in the film as well.
