Doom for Switch Cuts SnapMap Feature
Bethesda has announced that level editing tool SnapMap will not feature in the Switch port of Doom.
A representative of the company revealed to Engadget that the popular feature will be left out of the game when it comes to the Nintendo Switch later this year.
SnapMap allows players on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of Doom to create custom maps and new gameplay experiences by editing the game logic. Maps can then be shared with players across the globe, and are available on every compatible platform.
Switch players will, therefore, miss out on the many user-generated maps and modes that expand the core experience of Doom.
See Warframe’s First Open World Area, Plains of Eidolon
Warframe’s Plains of Eidolon update will be launching later this year, adding the game’s first ‘open world’ area with quests to complete, fish to catch, and a day-night cycle.
Watch the video below to see an exclusive first look at the Plains of Eidolon trailer:
Since first revealing Plains of Eidolon at TennoCon earlier this year, developer Digital Extremes has been busy filling the area with more combat encounters and things to do. One of the bigger additions is mining, which the developer describes as a “mini-game” of sorts, like fishing, where you can extract resources from around the map.
How Rocket League Beat the Odds – IGN Expert Mode Ep. 2
Have you ever wanted to actually sit down with one of the creators that made the game, and be able to just play and chat with them about everything that went into making the game? On our new show, Expert Mode, we move past the traditional interview format, and spend some time on the couch just chatting, playing, and learning.
The five episodes of the show will air first exclusively on Facebook’s new “Watch” platform, so be sure to follow IGN Expert Mode on Facebook if you want to see it before it airs in the weeks following on IGN, our apps and places like YouTube.
The stories vary depending on the guest and game, but in addition to learning about the game itself, we hear about things like how it was first pitched, if it had different design elements we never saw, and all of those inside stories you may always wonder about.
Overwatch: Jeff Kaplan Talks Hero 26
Overwatch's next hero is "very playable" but "not coming out as soon as you think", says game director Jeff Kaplan.
Referring only to the character as "Hero 26" during his interview on IGN's new Expert Mode show, Kaplan explained that:
"Hero 26 is very playable and very fun internally, and that's all I'll say. It's not coming out as soon as you think
but Hero 26 is already amazing."
Explaining Blizzard's thinking about adding new characters, he said: "I don't think there's such a thing as too many heroes, but I think we also need to come out with heroes at a good pace."

Destiny 2: Here’s What Xur’s Brought on His First Visit
Xur has returned to the world of Destiny (although not in the place you might expect) with four pieces of exotic equipment.
For all classes, there's the Merciless fusion rifle - currently considered one of the best exotic weapons for the Leviathan Raid that started this week.
The three class-specific armour pieces all come from the choice of three exotics you get in the game's campaign. For Hunters there's the Raiden Flux chestpiece, Titans get the Doom Fang Pauldron Gauntlets, and Warlocks get the gaudy Wings of Sacred Dawn.
