Showtime Orders Pilot for Ben Affleck, Matt Damon Drama
City on a Hill, a new Boston-set drama executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, has received a pilot order by Showtime.
The one-hour pilot is written by Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler) and directed by Gavin O'Connor (The Accountant), who's also on board as an executive producer. Showtime is producing City on a Hill, which is based on an original concept by Affleck and MacLean.
City on a Hill takes place in the early 90s and tells a fictional account of the "Boston Miracle," during a time when corruption and racism were commonplace. The story centers around an African-American District Attorney from Brooklyn who ends up working with a corrupt but respected FBI vet on a case that turns Boston's criminal justice system on its head.
EA Teased New Battlefield 1 Esports Mode Reveal at Gamescom
UPDATE: During the question and answer period of the investor call, EA said the new addition to Battlefield 1 is an eSports mode, pointing to the difficulties playing competitive matches with 64 players.
The original story appears below.
During its first-quarter call with investors, EA teased what it called the "richest Battlefield experience" yet.
EA's CEO Andrew Wilson said the new content will premier at Gamescom next month and includes new maps and modes. While it's likely the content is from the upcoming In the Name of the Tsar DLC, first revealed at E3, no specific reference to the expansion was made during Wilson's prepared remarks.

From Rocky to Granny: The Late June Foray’s Best Voice Roles
It's a sad day for the pop culture world, as legendary voice actress June Foray has passed away. Even if you don't recognize her by name, you've no doubt heard her voice in countless animated films and TV series. She's the actress who brought life to everyone from Rocky J. Squirrel to Cindy Lou Who to Magica De Spell.
To celebrate Foray's long and impressive career, we've put together a slideshow spotlighting her most memorable and influential roles. Check it out below:
Even this slideshow barely scratches the surface of Foray's prolific voice-acting career, not to mention her many live-action roles and her radio and record album performances. She'll be greatly missed.
Lucha Underground: Season 4 Renewal “Looks Good”
Today at the Television Critics Association press tour, I spoke to El Rey Network's chief creative officer Skip Chaisson about the prospects for Lucha Underground.
Currently in the midst of wrapping up the back half of its third season, Lucha Underground hasn't been gifted with a fourth season renewal yet, and while Chaisson couldn't confirm one for us solidly, he did say that the show's future "looks good" and that one of the things really being discussed right now is where to place it on the network's schedule going forward. He and famed filmmaker/network head Robert Rodriguez love the show and can't wait to make more.
Chaisson also couldn't confirm which stars might be returning to the series, or any new stars that the network might have their eyes on, but he did laud the passion of the wrestlers.
Rick and Morty Is the Best Sci-Fi Show on TV
The initial pitch for Rick and Morty was easy enough to get excited over: from the mad minds of Adult Swim and the creator of Community came an animated show about a Doctor Who-like space traveler and his grandson, except his grandson is an idiot and that Doctor Who-like character is an alcoholic, cynical A-hole.
Except Rick and Morty proved to be much more than that exceedingly appealing premise. With Season 3 premiering on Sunday, July 30 (after dropping its first episode early in an amazing April Fool's prank), Adult Swim's critical darling has grown to be one of the smartest, funniest and sharpest TV shows on the air, and what I would argue is the best sci-fi series currently airing.
The Avengers of 1,000,000 BC Revealed
A new era is beginning for Marvel Comics this fall thanks to the Marvel Legacy #1 one-shot, which will bring back at least one long-lost character and chart a new course for the company in the aftermath of Secret Empire. This issue will also establish how the the concept of the Avengers dates back far longer than anyone would have guessed. In fact, writer Jason Aaron and artist Esad Ribic will introduce the very first team of Avengers, one that was formed in the year 1,000,000 BC.
Luckily, we don't have to wait until the release of Marvel Legacy #1 to catch a glimpse of these mysterious heroes. Marvel has released a series of teaser images drawn by Mike Deodato Jr. that spotlight each prehistoric Avenger. Check out the gallery below to find out which heroes made the cut.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends Now Available on Mobile
You can now play Bethesda's strategy card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends, along with the recent Heroes of Skyrim expansion, on mobile devices.
Bethesda announced today that players can download the game for free on iPhones and Android phones. Up until now, Legends was only playable on PC and tablets.
If you've been playing the game on PC or tablet, your account data will transfer over to your phone. This mobile version of Legends also features a "new streamlined interface" designed specifically to make it playable on your phone's smaller screen size.
Snowpiercer TV Series to Contain an Ongoing Mystery
TNT's Snowpiercer series -- which is currently in development/pilot stages, and comes to us from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator Josh Friedman and Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson -- will contain an ongoing mystery for the first season said TNT/TBS president Kevin Reilly.
Starring Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly, Snowpiercer will be akin to a "space ship show," Reilly told those in attendance at the Television Critics Association press tour. "It's a contained environment with a wide swath go characters stuck together in an intense environment in a game of survival. It makes for unbelievable character drama."
