Aladdin: Power Rangers Star Naomi Scott Eyed for Jasmine

While Disney is struggling to find the male lead for its upcoming live-action Aladdin movie, the studio is reportedly interested in casting Naomi Scott as Jasmine.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott—who starred as Kimberly (aka the Pink Ranger) in this year's Power Rangers movie—and Indian actress Tara Sutaria are being eyed for the female lead. However, a deal can't be signed until the studio selects an actor to play Aladdin, as they want to ensure there's chemistry between the two.

New Arms Mode Coming in Tomorrow’s Update

Arms is getting a new versus mode in tomorrow's update.

In an interview with Eurogamer, producer Kosuke Yabuki revealed that the new mode will allow players to fight as the game's biggest baddie, Hedlok.

Two or three players will battle over a Hedlok mask during a match. Whoever gets the mask first can then turn their character into Arms' final boss. "If one player turns into Hedlok it'll be up to the other players to take him down," said Yabuki.

The Hedlok mode won't be limited to only 1v1 matches, as it will be available online and in all multiplayer modes. As previously announced, the update will also feature the new playable fighter Max Brass.

Worlds Adrift Is a Riveting Sky-Pirate Adventure

We knew it was probably game over when the wind yanked the compass off our airship's dashboard and flung it into the cloudy wastes below. Frankly, very little was going according to plan. I was on a developer-made airship in the upcoming survival MMORPG Worlds Adrift, a game about crafting airships and using them to explore numerous floating islands, and by rights we should have sailed through the storm wall we'd intentionally entered as smoothly as butter. New islands awaited if we could only make it to the other side! New adventures and resources! But no. We lost our bearings, even though the developers did their best to repair the sails and engines by grappling heroically to the underside of the ship in the midst of the storm. Our vessel was a mess, and somehow we found ourselves on the same side of the storm we'd gone through.

Why Warren Spector Isn’t Interested in AAA Gaming’s Future

Warren Spector, the creator of Deus Ex and designer of Epic Mickey, isn't especially interested in the future of AAA games. Instead, he's drawn to the creativity found in the indie space.

"I kinda don't care about the future of AAA gaming," Spector said on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered. "I think the costs are so high, the teams are so big, the risks are so great that we're seeing an awful lot of same old, same old with prettier pictures. That's a little reductionist, I know, but I don't see a lot that interests me in the AAA space."

Spector went on to note that at events like E3 and GDC, he instead spends the majority of his time checking out games from independent developers. IGN asked Spector if he's seen Cuphead, given Spector's longtime love of Disney cartoons and Cuphead's 1930s Steamboat Willie-esque aesthetic, to which he replied, "Of course I've seen Cuphead! I can't wait for Cuphead." He added, "I think you're seeing immense creativity on the indie side, and in that sense things are way better than they used to be."

Singer Suing Bethesda Over Fallout 4 Commercial

Folk singer/songwriter Dion DiMucci is suing Bethesda over a Fallout 4 commercial that contains what he calls a "repugnant and morally indefensible images".

DiMucci's song, "The Wanderer" was used in a Fallout 4 commercial with the same name (you can view it below). PCGamesN reports DiMucci had an agreement with record label UMG Recordings to allow any of his songs to be licensed for advertising, but claims it included a clause that meant the singer had to personally approve any commercial that used his music. DiMucci says that Bethesda never reached out to him.

DiMucci found the commercial objectionable because it "featured repeated homicides in a dark, dystopian landscape, where violence is glorified as sport." As a result, the musician believes the ads damaged his image.

Every Major Iron Man Armor in the MCU

When Tony Stark isn't saving the world or flirting with supermodels, he's usually in the workshop tinkering away at a new version of the Iron Man armor. And with the Marvel Cinematic Universe now clocking in at 16 films with the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, we've seen quite a few Iron Man suits on the big screen.

From the original Mark I all the way up to Tony's sleek new armor in Homecoming, here are all the major Iron Man armors that have appeared in the MCU so far...

With Iron Man playing a central role in next year's Avengers: Infinity War, it's a safe bet we'll see at least one new incarnation of the armor in 2018. A recent set photo hints at a major status quo change for Tony Stark in that movie.

Christopher Nolan Remastering Dark Knight Trilogy for 4K

Christopher Nolan is remastering his past films - such as the Dark Knight trilogy - in 4K.

In an interview with BadTaste. It, which you can view here, Nolan revealed he's personally involved in the 4K remastering process of his films.

The filmmaker is excited about the remasters particularly because, according to Nolan, 4K is currently the best way to get the home video audience closer to the 6K resolution his films were shot on.

"So as home video formats keep evolving, 4K — particularly 4K with HDR, it allows us to give somebody at home an experience that’s much much closer to what it was like to see the original film prints as projected on film," said Nolan.

Steam Bans 40,000 Cheaters in One Day

A day after the Steam Summer Sale came to a close, over 40,000 Steam accounts were banned by Valve.

Dot Esports reports that an exceedingly large number of bans became apparent on the Steam Database on July 6. The data reveals that nearly 30,000 of the bans were delivered before 12 pm with the final total of 40,411 bans easily beating the last record of 15,227 in one day.

With the crackdown commencing the day after the Steam Summer Sale had ended, it appears Valve cracked down on cheaters buying cheap copies of games for a new account that could be used to cheat with.
