The Biggest Highlights from the Infinity War Footage

Marvel Studios showed roughly five minutes of footage from Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War at D23 Expo 2017 on Saturday.

After opening with a sequence that shows the Guardians literally running into Thor amidst a scene of cosmic carnage, there was a sizzle reel of scenes showing the Avengers and Thanos in battle. Josh Brolin's Thanos, who wasn't wearing his helmet in the scenes, always seemed to have the upper hand in every scene.

New Marvel VR Game Announced for Oculus Rift at D23

The world of Marvel is coming to Oculus Rift with Marvel Powers United VR, a new game from developer Sanzaru.

The game was revealed during D23, and features co-op battles with up to three other people. Oculus Studios promises "more than a dozen playable characters" from the Marvel Comics universe, including Rocket Raccoon, Hulk, and Captain Marvel.

Marvel Powers United VR isn't coming out until 2018, but playable demos are scheduled for San Diego Comic Con next week at the Marvel booth.

D23 has been insane this year, with huge reveals coming one right after another, including a Guardians reveal in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer.

Star Wars: Jedi Challenges Augmented Reality Game Revealed

On stage at the D3 Expo, Disney revealed Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, an upcoming Augmented Reality game.

Disney, Lenovo, and Lucasfilm teamed up to build a custom AR headset, where users download an app to their phone, slip it into the headset, and then jump into the game.

They showcased gameplay that included holo-chess, a top-down battle against AT-ATs, and igniting a lightsaber. We'll have more on Jedi Challenges in the coming weeks.

Infinity War Trailer Shows Spider-Man’s Spidey Sense

The first teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War closed out D23 Expo's live action Disney films panel, and while it remains unclear when and if Marvel will release the Infinity War trailer to the public, there were some very exciting reveals in it -- beyond, you know, the Thanos of it all.

Consider this a spoiler warning if you want to go in completely clean, but as this is a trailer, we will report on it as news.

The release of Spider-Man: Homecoming had many fans questioning whether the Spidey Sense exists in the MCU, and while Kevin Feige has addressed that question already, the Infinity War trailer seems to have put it to rest with one very quick scene.

First Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Details

The first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was revealed at D23 Expo 2017, and while it's unclear whether Marvel will release the trailer to the public, there was notable news to come out of the footage.

Consider this a spoiler warning if you want to go in completely clean, but as this is a trailer, we will report on it as news.

The trailer for Infinity War opens with the Guardians of the Galaxy, as we last left them, flying through space on the Milano. Mantis says, "We are arriving," and Star-Lord responds that they need to "put on our mean faces."

It's unclear what drew them to this location -- whether a signal or otherwise -- but, as they're flying through the wreckage in space at this location, a body bumps into the ship's windshield. They bring the body into the ship and... it's Thor!

Dumbo Live Action Remake Cast, Release Date Revealed

At the D23 Expo, Disney dropped the first major details on its upcoming live action Dumbo remake.

Tim Burton is confirmed to direct the film, which will hit theaters on March 29, 2019. Disney also confirmed some major casting, including Colin Farrell, Danny Devito, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Nico Parker, and Finley Hobbins.

Disney's official description is as follows: "Holt Farrier (Farrell) is a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt’s children (Parker and Hobbins) discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant (Green) swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star."

Aladdin Live-Action Cast Revealed

During the D23 Expo, Disney announced the cast for its upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin.

Mena Massoud will play Aladdin in the film, while Power Rangers' Naomi Scott will play Jasmine. Disney also confirmed that Will Smith will play Genie. Guy Ritchie is confirmed to direct after reports had previously said he was in talks to helm the film.

The inspiration for the film will be both the animated Disney hit, as well as the classic collection of stories One Thousand and One Nights.

Scott's casting was rumored earlier this week, at which time reports also said Disney was struggling to cast the title role. Will Smith had previously been in talks to play Genie after reports had suggested he may also be involved in Tim Burton's upcoming Dumbo film.

Nutcracker and the Four Realms Release Date Announced

Disney announced the release date for its upcoming live-action fantasy film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms during the D23 Expo 2017.

Starring Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, and Mackenzie Foy, Four Realms will be released on November 2, 2018. Knightley plays the Sugar Plum Fairy, while Foy stars as the protagonist Clara and Mirren plays Mother Ginger. Freeman will star as Drosselmeyer.

Disney has also highlighted its upcoming Disney Animation Studios and Pixar films, including The Incredibles 2, which will pick up right after the original The Incredibles, the inclusion of Disney Princesses and Star Wars in Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, and a new untitled Pixar film. Pixar and Disney also announced a new director for Toy Story 4 during D23 Expo.
