Spider-Man and Batman Dominate June’s Comic Book Sales

Diamond Comics has released its sales figures for June 2017. Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #1 proved to be the top-selling comic of the month, with an estimated 224,620 copies sold (according to numbers crunched by Comichron).

The other big sellers for June included Dark Days: The Forge #1 (130,651 copies sold), Star Wars: Darth Vader #1 (118,644 copies sold) and Batman #24 (116,037 copies sold). The top ten best-selling comics of June 2017 included:

Call of Duty: WW2 Zombies Cast Revealed

The cast of Call of Duty: WWII's zombies mode has been revealed.

Developer Sledgehammer Games announced the news via Twitter ahead of the mode's world reveal in two days at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

The full cast is as follows: David Tennant (Jessica Jones) as Drostan Hynd, Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) as Marie Fischer, Elodie Yung (Marvel's Daredevil) as Olivia Durant, and Udo Kier (Armageddon) as Doktor Peter Straub.

Who Is Marvel’s New Sorcerer Supreme?

Big changes are brewing for Marvel's ongoing Doctor Strange comic, as the series is gaining a new creative team and a new lead character beginning in November. It seems that Loki will be replacing Stephen Strange as Sorcerer Supreme as part of Marvel's Legacy relaunch.

Loki's new promotion comes as new writer Donny Cates (God Country) and artist Gabriel Hernandez Walta (Vision) take over the series. Cates recently made his Marvel debut co-writing Captain America: Steve Rogers with Nick Spencer, and Marvel revealed that Cates has now signed an exclusive contract with the company.

Gamescom Award Applications Now Open

Applications for the Gamescom 2017 award are now open.

Exhibitors can now apply for the jury-voted award which crowns the best of Gamescom in among 23 categories. The winner will be voted by a selection of German and international media.

Additionally, IGN will be holding its own People's Choice award - Final Fantasy XV was last year's winner.

This year's Gamescom will see more than 38 countries represented on the show floor, while security has been tightened up for cosplayers.

Marvel Comics has released its full lineup of solicitations for October 2017. October is the official start of the Marvel Legacy relaunch, with many series reverting to classic numbering and big changes unfolding throughout the Marvel Universe.

New Series:

  • Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan #1
  • Falcon #1
  • Marvel's Black Panther Prelude #1
  • Punisher: The Platoon #1-2
  • Spirits of Vengeance #1
  • Thor: Where Walk the Frost Giants #1 (one-shot)

Ending Series:

It Director to Helm Robotech Live-Action Movie

Sony has found a director for its live-action Robotech movie.

IGN can confirm It director Andrés Muschietti has signed on to helm the film adaptation of the beloved 1980s cartoon series. Muschietti will work with his sibling and creative partner Barbara Muschietti, who will produce the project along with 300 producers Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari.

The producers behind the original series, Frank and Jehan Agrama, are also involved with the movie. The film does not have a writer or a release date yet.

A Robotech film had been gestating at Warner Bros. back in 2007. Sony picked up the rights in 2015, when it was rumored Aquaman director James Wan was Sony's top choice to helm the project.

GoT Theory: How to Save Jorah Mormont from Greyscale

Warning: Spoilers for the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere follow.

Game of Thrones' Season 7 premiere, "Dragonstone," may have given us our first hint as to how Jorah Mormont may be cured of Greyscale, the contagious, skin-hardening disease he contracted back in Season 5.

In Old Town, while Sam and Gilly are poring over the books from the restricted area of the Citadel's library, we get a quick glimpse at what may very well be a potential cure for Jorah's affliction. Spotted by eagle-eyed Reddit user Beastmodekait (via Buzzfeed), a conveniently cut-off page seems to mention ingesting dragonglass as a potential cure for illness and disease.
