Telltale’s The Walking Dead Gets a Final Season in 2018
Telltale has announced a fourth, final season of its The Walking Dead series coming in 2018.
A brief behind-the-scenes video released today confirmed that season four will once again star Clementine and called it the final season of the series. Voice actor Melissa Hutchison will return to reprise her role as Clementine.
So far, Telltale has confirmed the final season of The Walking Dead will be released on consoles, PC and Mac, iOS, and Android.
Telltale’s Batman Season 2 Announced
Telltale has announced Batman: The Enemy Within, the second season of its Batman series. Episode 1 is called "The Enigma" and will be released on August 8th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with iOS and Android versions coming later in 2017.
A brief trailer released by Telltale today confirmed an appearance by The Riddler, and Telltale also revealed that season one character John Doe will return as an early version of The Joker. Voice actor Troy Baker will reprise his role as Batman and Bruce Wayne, and Anthony Ingruber will play The Joker.
Telltale originally announced its Batman series at The Game Awards back in 2015, with a full reveal early in 2016. The series debuted last year and ran from August through December.
Marvel Powers United VR: Hulk Smash Never Felt So Good
When I looked up at IGN Editor-in-Chief Steve Butts and saw the Incredible Hulk towering over me at twice my size, then turned around and saw IGN video editor Mark Medina standing there half my size as Guardians of the Galaxy's Rocket, I knew that, if nothing else, Marvel Powers United VR would at least make the eternal video game fantasy of feeling like a superhero a little more tangible.
Marvel Powers United is an Oculus Rift exclusive with a fairly straightforward gameplay loop: you and three friends band together and defeat wave after wave of cannon fodder bad guys (and occasional bosses too), competing with each other for the highest score. It's Halo's Firefight mode, Gears of War's Horde mode, or any one of countless others like it. The hook, of course, is that you're in first-person mode in VR as one of your favorite Marvel superheroes. The final version of Powers will ship next year with over a dozen playable characters, Oculus told me, but only four have been announced so far: Hulk, Rocket, Captain Marvel, and Deadpool.

What Does the Future Hold for Hearthstone Esports?
Hearthstone is nothing short of a juggernaut these days. The game hit 70 million players as of May 1, and is currently enjoying one of the most diverse metas in its history, thanks to a new Standard rotation (where certain older sets are no longer playable in the main game mode) and the most recent expansion, Journey to Un’Goro.
Hearthstone’s esports scene is obviously a huge part of that picture too, and has grown in leaps and bounds since the early days. 2017 in particular has seen the Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) really find its feet and Blizzard has actively started up a number of other interesting programs.
Vicarious Visions Explains Why Crash Bandicoot Remake Is Harder Than the Original
In a new post on the Activision Games Blog Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy developer Vicarious Visions has discussed concerns regarding the difficulty of the first game in the studio’s new compilation.
“Now, we can all agree that some of the Crash levels were, and still are, not easy,” began the post, which is attributed simply to ‘Vicarious Visions staff.’
Vicarious Visions went on to explain that its goal for the trilogy was to “reduce any points of frustration while preserving the challenge of the originals.”
According to Vicarious Visions, the team used the handling from Crash Bandicoot: Warped as its starting point for the whole project but it ended up “tuning jump differently for each game, so that the jump metrics are the same as the originals.”
Nintendo Switch Online App Is Available to Download
Nintendo's online app for the Switch is now available to download on the Apple app store.
The Nintendo Switch Online app will allow you to set up appointments to play with friends, make use of game-specific services (like SpletNet 2 for Splatoon 2), and most importantly, use voice chat while playing compatible games on your Switch.
As of writing, you can download the app but get a server maintenance error when trying to log in (see screengrab below), so we haven't been able to test its features.
Whoopi Goldberg Wants Song of the South to Be Available
Whoopi Goldberg, the voice of Shenzi the hyena in The Lion King, has stated her desire to see the controversial 1946 film Song of the South made available in the United States of America. While Disney is usually quite happy to revisit (and remake) their classic films for the sake of their adoring fans, Song of the South has been unavailable in the USA since its 1986 40th anniversary theatrical re-release.
The film, a combination of live-action and animation, is notable as Disney's first live-action musical but has been criticized ever since its original 1946 release for its controversial depiction of its African American characters. However, elements of Song of the South remain present in popular culture, such as the Academy Award-winning song "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" and the Disney ride Splash Mountain. Additionally, the movie has remained available in other countries, with the ersatz ban only existing in America.
