Breaking Bad VR Experience Coming to PSVR
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is working on a "non-game" virtual reality experience based on the TV show.
Variety reports Gilligan will be teaming up with Sony's PlayStation division. However, beyond Gilligan's direct involvement not much else is known about the VR project, including a release window, whether it'll be episodic, and which stars are attached.
The project came about when Sony brought in seven high-profile TV showrunners to its campus, including David Shore (The Blacklist) and Ron Moore (Battlestar Galactica), to try out its VR technology. "They just played around with VR," said Andrew House, global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment. "Several of them were intrigued, but Vince was the one who said, ‘I really want to do something with this. I want to experiment with this.'”
Pokemon-Themed Nintendo Direct Coming Tomorrow
Nintendo has announced that a Pokemon-centric Nintendo Direct will be broadcast tomorrow, Tuesday June 6 at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK (or 12am AEST on June 7).
Revealed first on the Nintendo Japan website, there's no more specific indication of what might be coming from the broadcast.
That hasn't stopped the internet immediately jumping to the conclusion that this broadcast will see the reveal of Pokemon Stars, the long-rumoured iteration on Pokemon Sun and Moon, supposedly set to make the step up from 3DS to Switch. Developer Game Freak was hiring for a console game recently, after all.

Elder Scrolls, Fallout Dev Making “AAA Freemium Game”
Bethesda Game Studios - the developer behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series - is making what it describes as a "bleeding-edge AAA freemium game".
A job listing (spotted by NeoGAF user Nirolak) for a game performance manager at the company's Montreal studio reveals little more than that phrase, but confirms that the unannounced game will be taking on a free-to-play business model.
Bethesda president, Todd Howard has previously announced that Bethesda is working on a new, unannounced mobile game. It may be that this freemium game is the same project - however, it's worth noting that other Bethesda Montreal job listings have specifically mentioned working on a mobile title, while this one does not.
Final Fantasy 14: Discussions Ongoing for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One Versions
Final Fantasy XIV could yet come to Switch and Xbox One, with developer Square Enix confirming that discussions with Nintendo and Microsoft are ongoing.
Director Naoki Yoshida has previously said that he would like to bring the game to both consoles, but news on that front has been somewhat quiet.
Speaking with Finder, however, Yoshida once again reiterated his desire to bring the MMORPG to more platforms than PlayStation and PC, and made clear that talks are in progress.
Classification Body Leaks Minecraft: Story Mode’s Second Series
The unannounced second season of Minecraft: Story Mode has seemingly been leaked by a ratings board.
Developer Telltale Games has yet to formally announce the game, but the first episode - entitled A Hero in Residence - was recently detailed on the Australian Ratings Board, and given a Parental Guidance (PG) rating (thanks, Eurogamer).
The Leftovers Creator on Ending the Series and Nora’s Guilt
If you haven't yet finished watching The Leftovers' final episode, "The Book of Nora," then you best not scroll below. It's filled with full spoilers.
Author Tom Perrotta's novel, The Leftovers, about a spiraling world in which 2% of the global population mysteriously vanishes, was turned into one of the most transcendent, unique, and touching shows of the recent TV era.
Perrotta, along with EP Damon Lindelof, adapted the book into a three-season journey of the heart and soul and now that it's all coming to a close I had the chance to speak with Perrotta about completing his story on TV, the ambiguities present in the finale, Nora's quest to save a goat, Laurie's miraculous return, and more.
The Leftovers’ Damon Lindelof on the Final Episode’s Meaning
Warning: Do not read ahead if you haven't seen The Leftovers' series finale. Full spoilers follow.
Now that The Leftovers has left us, and leveled us with a devastating and beautiful finale, here's my post-finale chat with executive producer/showrunner Damon Lindelof about what went down in the final chapter, "The Book of Nora."
What was behind the decision to, essentially, bring Laurie back from an assumed death? Was Nora telling the truth to Kevin when she spoke of an alternate world sparsely populated with everyone who departed? I asked Lindelof those questions and more.
Note: I also interviewed Leftovers creator and executive prouder Tom Perrotta about the finale, and you can read that here.
Ghostbusters: Aykroyd Blames Director for Reboot’s Failure
Update: EW reached out to Sony to comment on Aykroyd's claims. A source from the company said the reshoots did indeed occur, but the price was between $3 and $4 million, as opposed to Aykroyd's claims of $30-40 million.
Original story is below.
Original Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd has blamed director Paul Feig for the 2016's reboot's underwhelming performance at the box office.
Speaking to the UK's Channel 4 (via Deadline), Aykroyd said that although he enjoyed the film - as did many critics - Feig was to blame for its inflated budget.
