Pirates of the Caribbean: The Story So Far

Next week, Johnny Depp returns as the legendary pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The fifth film in Disney's long-running series sees Sparrow battling Captain Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem), an old foe of Sparrow's with a supernatural edge and a powerful grudge. Along the way, he'll run into both new and old allies and enemies, including Geoffrey Rush's Captain Hector Barbossa and Orlando Bloom's Will Turner.

Dwayne Johnson Confirms Superman Will Fight Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson has confirmed Superman will battle against Black Adam.

In an interview with Fandango, Johnson confirmed his long-awaited DCEU debut as Black Adam is "definitely going to happen." Johnson teased that when Black Adam does finally show up in a DCEU film, it's going to surprise fans.

"It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out

really nicely," Johnson said. "We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can't reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced."

Fassbender May Return as Magneto in X-Men: Dark Phoenix

20th Century Fox's upcoming X-Men film Dark Phoenix may feature Michael Fassbender's Magneto.

In a post on Twitter, MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz teased the potential involvement of Fassbender in Dark Phoenix, but dashed hopes of him appearing in New Mutants. "Want to know Fassbender's X-Men future? Bet big on him appearing in Dark Phoenix but not New Mutants. Oh, I just saw Michael Fassbender BTW," Horowitz said.

IGN has reached out to a source for comment and will provide an update if we receive a response.

Earlier this year, X-Men series producer Lauren Shuler Donner shed light on what lies ahead for Magneto, saying future X-Men movies will move beyond his relationship with Professor X.

Disney Announces Little Mermaid Live Musical TV Special

The Little Mermaid will resurface as a live musical TV special on ABC.

Disney has officially announced The Wonderful World of Disney: The Little Mermaid Live, with a premiere date set for October 3. The two-hour special will be based on the animated movie.

This version of The Little Mermaid will mix live action with animation, and Disney says it's using cutting-edge tech for the special. The cast — teased to include "favorite celebrity artists" — will be revealed at a later date.

Now this isn't the only adaptation of The Little Mermaid that Disney is working on. The company is creating a live-action Little Mermaid movie with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Marvel’s Inhumans Airing Fridays, SHIELD Held for Midseason

ABC has announced its primetime lineup for the 2017-18 season, which features Marvel's Inhumans and Once Upon a Time on Friday nights.

Once Upon a Time, which returns for its seventh season on a new day and time, will air at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, which will then be followed by Marvel's Inhumans at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Meanwhile, the fifth season of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will be held for a midseason debut, and will begin airing Friday nights after Marvel's Inhumans completes its eight-episode run. Despite debuting later than usual, Agents of SHIELD still has been ordered for a full 22-episode season.

Roseanne Revival Set for ABC

ABC is officially bringing back Roseanne for an eight-episode reboot next year.

The originally cast of Conners will star in the new Roseanne show. That means the return of Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman and Lecy Goranson.

In fact, Sarah Chalke will return as well. The Scrubs actress portrayed Becky in later seasons of Roseanne, but she'll play another role in the reboot.

Pokemon Go Adventure Week Increases Odds of Finding Aerodactyl, Other Rock-types

Niantic announced a Pokemon Go Adventure Week celebration that increases the spawn rates of Rock-type Pokemon.

Adventure Week starts at 1 p.m. PT on May 18, with festivities lasting a full week until 1 p.m. PT on May 25. Niantic specifically suggested for players to be on the look out for rare Rock-type fossil Pokemon Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl.

To help evolve these and other rare Pokemon, buddy Pokemon will find four times as much candy as usual. More items will be rewarded at PokeStops, and Poke Balls will be half-off in the shop during the week-long event as well. Plus, everyone will get a new free accessory, the Adventure Hat.

Over 200 Backward Compatible Xbox 360 Games Discounted

Microsoft is slashing the prices of over 200 Xbox 360 games that work on Xbox One.

Called the Xbox One Backward Compatibility Super Sale, Microsoft is offering discounts from 30 percent up to even 90 percent on hundreds of games. Some of the deal highlights are Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, BioShock, Grand Theft Auto IV and The Orange Box.

According to Microsoft, nearly half of Xbox One owners play 360 backward compatible games. There are over 300 games available. For a look at them, check out IGN's Xbox One Backward Compatibility List.
