Can Boruto Live Up to Naruto’s Legacy?

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is only a few episodes into its first season, and even though it hasn’t had much time, it has a lot to live up to. It’s been a slow, character-focused start.

Crunchyroll’s Naruto expert and Brand Manager, Victoria Holden, joins me in discussing what Boruto as a series needs to do to live up to its predecessor. In the video above we discuss things we’d like to see change from Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden, and what opportunities Boruto has to expand on the ninja world.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out IGN’s Boruto reviews:

The Flash: Is the Thinker Season 4’s Main Villain?

While most of the chatter surrounding The Flash's Season 3 finale surrounds the shocking, status quo-altering ending, that wasn't the only big development to be found in that episode. Savitar may have given fans a major clue as to which DC villain will be headlining the upcoming fourth season. And as promised, this villain won't be another evil speedster, but rather a shadowy criminal mastermind known as The Thinker.

Full spoilers for The Flash continue below.

"Finish Line" is actually the second episode this season where one of Barry Allen's time-traveling enemies has referenced a character named DeVoe. Earlier, Abra Kadabra spoke of DeVoe in the same breath as Reverse-Flash and Zoom, implying that this villain is in their league in terms of power and overall threat level. And in "Finish Line," Savitar reminisced about building a machine to stop DeVoe's telekinetic powers before reminding himself that Team Flash circa-2017 has yet to encounter this enemy. It would seem the writers are laying the seeds for their next major villain much in the same way Arrow set the stage for Damien Darhk in late Season 3. Here's where we think the show might be headed with DeVoe as its main antagonist in Season 4.

Silver Sable and Black Cat Movie Finds Its Director

Gina Prince-Bythewood will direct Silver and Black, an upcoming film in Sony's Marvel Universe featuring the studio's host of Spider-Man characters.

IGN can confirm Prince-Bythewood, who directed the pilot for Freeform's Marvel's Cloak and Dagger TV series, is in negotiations to direct the film based on Silver Sable and Black Cat, and rewrite the script previously drafted by Thor: Ragnarok's Christopher Yost.

In addition to Cloak and Dagger, Prince-Bythewood has directed the films Beyond the Lights and The Secret Life of Bees. She will be the first woman of color to ever direct a Marvel film, and the first woman directing a Marvel-based film on her own (Captain Marvel is co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck).

Respawn Announces Free Titanfall 2 DLC

Respawn has detailed the offerings coming in its next Titanfall 2 DLC drop on May 30, 2017.

First up for grabs — and perhaps, importantly, up for free, too — is a new Titan, Monarch, a mid-range Vanguard class mech that can "upgrade itself on the battlefield through her unique Upgrade Core." Keep her ticking over long enough, and it'll eventually reach its "final form."

Beyond Good and Evil 2 Won’t Be at E3 2017

Beyond Good & Evil 2 won't be at E3 2017 but will likely appear sometime later this year, if recent comments from series creator Michel Ancel are any indication.

When asked on Instagram if footage of the game might be shown at E3, Ancel replied, "Mhhh, not sure that E3 would be the best place to showcase BG&E2 but we're working on the game so sometime this year, you should hear about it!"

IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment and will provide an update in the event we receive a response.

A new Beyond Good & Evil game has been in the works for quite some time. Word of the project resurfaced last year when Ancel posted several images of concept art. Shortly thereafter, he said the game entered pre-production, and Ubisoft followed that up with official confirmation that the title is in development at its Montpellier studio.

How Wonder Woman Is Like Donner’s Superman, Batman Begins

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of speaking with Matthew Jensen, the cinematographer for Wonder Woman. Jensen, whose previous credits include Chronicle, Fantastic Four, Filth and episodes of Game of Thrones, True Blood and Ray Donovan, spoke in glowing terms of star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins. He also described the film as something intended to be on par with Richard Donner's iconic Superman and Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins.

He and I also discussed some nagging questions I, as a layperson, have always had about cinematography. And the subject of the Fantastic Four remake, which he also worked on, came up as well. Read on for our full chat...

Cinematographer Matthew Jenkins (left) talks about the aspirations of Wonder Woman and what it was like making this ambitious superhero movie. Cinematographer Matthew Jensen (left) talks about the aspirations of Wonder Woman and what it was like making this ambitious superhero movie.
