Splatoon 2: Road to E3 2017
It's that time of year again: E3 2017 is just on the horizon. From June 10-15, we'll be covering the biggest games and hardware announcements of 2017 and beyond. While you can check out our continually-updated Games of E3 List, we're now going to start diving deeper. Every day leading up to the show, we'll highlight the stuff we want to see and play at E3 2017. Today's game is Splatoon 2.
We = saw a wonderfully cut campaign trailer for Splatoon 2 not that long ago, and it plays to the strengths of Splatoon's weird world beautifully. It kicks off with Marie, one member of the previously popular diva duette known as the Squid Sisters, on her own and *gasp* no one appears to remember her. We're not sure how much time has passed between the Splatoon games, but this narrative setup plays into the drama Nintendo is slowly building through it's Squid Sister stories. It tells the story of a rift that happens after Team Marie beat Team Callie in the final Splatfest event. Anyway, this trailer shows off some cool mechanics and it confirms that more weapons will be available in the campaign versus the previous Splatoon campaign.
The CW’s Black Lightning Explained
The CW will be adding yet another DC Comics-based series to its lineup this fall thanks to Black Lightning. The series will chronicle the exploits of Jefferson Pierce, a middle-aged metahuman trying to raise two daughters and make his city a safer place. Even with his electricity powers, that task will be easier said than done.
Black Lightning won't be premiering until midway through the 2017-2018 TV season, but it doesn't hurt to brush up o the character now. We're here to break down everything you need to know about this rising star in the DCU.
Black Lightning is among DC's first African American superheroes. A resident of Metropolis' Suicide Slum, Jefferson fights to keep his family and his community safe from gangs like The 100 and crime lords like Tobias Whale, and his innate electric powers make him a serious force to be reckoned with. Jefferson tends to have a unique perspective on crime and evil relative to the heroes of the Justice League. He'd prefer to remain on the street and try to enact change on a local level rather than spend his time high above the world in the JLA Watchtower.

Watch All of Far Cry 5’s Character Trailers
Alongside the game's reveal trailer, Ubisoft has revealed three new character vignette trailers, introducing some of Far Cry 5's protagonists.
Nick, Jerome, and Mary - all of whom are seen briefly in the main trailer - introduce themselves in these CG videos:
None of the characters shown are the game's main character, a currently unnamed Sheriff's deputy - it may be that we're looking at the game's co-op characters.
Far Cry 5 Will Almost Certainly Be Divisive
Far Cry 5 is almost certainly going to get talked about by the mainstream news media. Whether that idea excites you, annoys you, or something else is up to you. But Far Cry is going places that no big-budget, AAA-level game has gone in recent times, if ever.
You play a sheriff’s deputy caught up in a war between the US Marshal Service and Hope County’s resident cult leader, Joseph – a man who believes he’s been chosen to protect his followers from a government collapse he believes to be imminent – and his family: brothers Jacob and John and their half-sister, Faith. You won’t be alone, of course. Joining you in the battle for Hope County’s soul are potential allies like Pastor Jerome, whose church has come under fire by Joseph’s group; Mary May, whose father was killed by the cult; and Nick Rye, a pilot and soon-to-be father who wants to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who both fought for the US.

New Blizzard Mobile Game Seems to Be a Warcraft Spin-Off
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft might not be the only game in the franchise available for mobile devices for much longer.
A new Blizzard job posting (spotted by NeoGAF user Nirolak) seemingly confirms the company's next mobile game is based on the Warcraft series. The listing is for "an unannounced project for mobile" and says the person must possess a "passion for creating imagery synonymous with the Warcraft IP."
While previous theories pointed to a possible StarCraft or Overwatch mobile entry, that's apparently not the case.
