ARMS Release Date Announced for Nintendo Switch

During Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced that ARMS will be released for Nintendo Switch on June 16, 2017.

Originally announced back in January during the Switch reveal event, ARMS is a 3D fighter that allows characters to swap arms to gain new abilities.

During today’s event, Nintendo revealed a new character named Min Min, who utilizes her ramen noodle arms and devastating kicks to fight foes, as well as a new 2-on-2 battle mode.

New Zelda and Smash Amiibo Announced

During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo revealed three new amiibo for The Legend of Zelda series along with a release date for Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta amiibo, the final characters added to Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS as DLC.

Majora’s Mask Link, Twilight Princess Link, and Skyward Sword Link are new additions for The Legend of Zelda 30th anniversary series. Nintendo said the toys-to-life figures will be released on June 23. Each amiibo is modeled after key art used in their respective Zelda game.

The new Zelda amiibo may give players the chance to unlock additional in–game costumes for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, more specifically gear modeled after the Great Deity, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword outfits. The official Breath of the Wild guide published by Piggyback outed that this gear could be "unlocked by the corresponding amiibo," but it did not specify which ones would work. It’s also important to note that the Gear of Twilight set can be unlocked with the Smash series Link amiibo, but it is not typically available in stores.

Universal’s Jimmy Fallon Ride Feels a Lot Like Mario Kart

Universal Orlando Resort and its two theme parks are filled with attractions based on big name franchises – Jurassic Park! Harry Potter! Transformers! Spider-Man! The Simpsons! But their newest inclusion stands out because a late night talk show isn’t exactly the kind of property one expects to get a theme park ride… and yet Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, which just opened at Universal Studios Florida, does just that.

I’m not exactly a big fan of Fallon’s incarnation of The Tonight Show, and it innately feels weird that any show of this sort would be the subject of a theme park attraction. Then there's the fact that this is yet another 3D motion-simulator, which feels like a pretty overused theme park go-to at this point. All of which is to say I was pretty cynical when I went on the newly opened ride last week. And yet after all that, I actually found it pretty fun.
