Star Wars: Catch This Easter Egg in the Last Jedi Poster?
The awesome new poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has a symbol not so secretly hidden in it.
The gorgeous design shows Rey holding a lightsaber above her head, with the beam of her saber dividing Luke Skywalker on one side and Kylo Ren on the other. But beyond the obvious implications that can be taken from that image, the poster includes a subtle nod back to the film's title. Click through the below gallery to find out how:
Is this an indicator that Luke is being tempted by the Dark Side, if not outright going over to it by wanting the Jedi to come to an end? Hopefully not, especially if we're right with our theory about why Luke Skywalker might want the Jedi to come to an end.
Daisy Ridley Talks Star Wars Forces of Destiny and Rey’s Impact
During The Heroines of Star Wars panel at Star Wars Celebration today, there was a big surprise for fans, as Daisy Ridley – Rey herself – joined moderator Amy Ratcliffe, Star Wars Rebels co-creator Dave Filoni, Ashley Eckstein (“Ahsoka Tano”) and Tiya Sircar (“Sabine Wren) onstage to talk about Star Wars Forces of Destiny.
Announced earlier this week, Forces of Destiny is a big new initiative, driven by animated shorts and an accompanying toy line, all focused on the female heroes of Star Wars. Ridley is one of several Star Wars live action movie actors reprising their role in Forces of Destiny, along with John Boyega (“Finn”), Lupita Nyong'o (“Maz Kanata”) and Felicity Jones (“Jyn Erso”).
Star Wars: Why Luke Skywalker Might Want to End the Jedi
Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped its first teaser trailer, and it left us with one huge question: why the heck would Luke want to end the Jedi?
But after thinking about that question longer, his potential motivations started to become clear. Rewatch the trailer below, and continue reading for our theory on why the new hope for the Jedi would want to see the order end.
“Breathe. Just breathe. Now, reach out - whaddya see?”
“Light. Darkness. The Balance.”
“It’s so much bigger.”
The final words of The Last Jedi’s new trailer - “it’s time for the Jedi to end” - have already stirred up a lot of questions (“what?”, “why?”, “is there, like, a lightsaber amnesty, or do we just trust all the ex-Jedi not to use theirs?”), but it’s the exchange above, from earlier in the teaser, that might provide the answers.
Every Plot Detail Revealed About Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Today at Star Wars Celebration 2017, we got our first major drop of Star Wars: The Last Jedi plot details from the film's panel, as well as the teaser trailer.
Here are some of the biggest things we learned, and the questions we still have.
CHECK OUT THE LAST JEDI TEASER ABOVE.
The trailer showed us images of Rey training with Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To, the planet from the end of Force Awakens. She's sparring with her lightsaber, as well as levitating pebbles using the Force. But it doesn't seem like this will go quite how Rey hoped it would.
Picking up right where The Force Awakens ended, Daisy Ridley teased "Rey has a certain expectation as to what she might be getting from Luke and what that might entail. And as a lot of people might know, it's difficult when you meet your heroes because it might not be what you expect." This is apparent, given Luke's final, ominous line of the teaser, "It's time for the Jedi to end."
Details About New Planet in The Last Jedi Revealed
More information about a new planet glimpsed in the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi teaser trailer has been revealed, including its name.
The new planet is called Crait, as EW has learned via The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. Beyond its name, however, Johnson explained that Crait is a mineral planet that features an old, abandoned rebel base on it.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Behind the Scenes Photos
During the Star Wars: The Last Jedi panel today at Star Wars Celebration, director Rian Johnson shared a behind the scenes look at his upcoming film.

The director also shared several set photos from when they were on location shooting in Ireland, as well as sneak peeks at Daisy Ridley as Rey, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, John Boyega as Finn, and Kelly Marie Tran as the entirely new character, Rose.

2 New Stills of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Rest assured: after a long wait to even see him in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke Skywalker is going to be a major player in Episode VIII, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We also get to hear him in the trailer for the movie, which dropped at Star Wars Celebration 2017.
"He is so significantly important to this next film," Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy said on The Last Jedi panel at Star Wars Celebration 2017. He also isn't quite what Rey expects, according to Daisy Ridley.
How Shadow of War Fits into the Lord of the Rings Universe
For the entire month of April, our IGN First is diving deep into Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the hugely ambitious sequel to 2014's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
As part of that ongoing coverage, we sat down to ask the Vice President of Creative at Monolith Productions and the man behind the story, Michael de Plater, everything we could about the game. How does it fit between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings? What's up with those Nazgul? How hard is Shadow of War going to be? All that and so, so much more. The little footage we've seen so far has already generated a number of questions, so let's start unpacking them right now.
