Bates Motel Creators on That Shocking Shower Kill
Warning: Spoilers for the Bates Motel episode "Marion" follow...
With this week's episode, "Marion," Bates Motel sealed off its two-part Psycho arc, giving us a terrific and terrifying new spin in the iconic shower scene from the Hitchcock film.
Marion Crane, played by superstar Rihanna here, survived her stay at Norman's rest stop while Austin Nichols (The Walking Dead) fell to multiple stab wounds and the loathsome character of Sam Loomis was no more.
On top of this, Norman discovered some startling new facts about his "Norma" personality - most notably, where she'd been spending her nights. New facts that helped him murder Sam all on his own. No blackouts. No Mother persona.
Star Wars Rebels Creator on Maul and Kallus’ Fates and Other Big Season 3 Storylines
Warning: Full spoilers for Star Wars Rebels: Season 3 follow.
Star Wars Rebels just wrapped up its third season, with several notable events occurring along the way. With the third season now complete, I spoke to the show’s co-creator and executive producer Dave Filoni for an in-depth post-mort on many of Season 3’s biggest moments and events (including a key death), the decisions behind them and much more.
IGN: Let me start out asking about the finale and Kallus, because this character has been one of my favorites to chart. It reminds me of Asajj Ventress in Clone Wars, who was a villain at first but then had these other layers revealed. Did you debate if he actually would make it out of there or not and how did you decide what his path would be?
Spielberg’s Ready Player One Will Feature VR Content via Vive
In keeping with the themes of Steven Spielberg's upcoming flick Ready Player One, Warner Bros. has teamed up with HTC Vive to produce some exclusive VR content for the flick.
It was announced today on Vive's official blog that Vive will produce "multiple pieces of VR content tied to the world of Ready Player One", which will be available though Viveport leading up to the film's release on March 30, 2018.
What these pieces of content will actually look like remains to be seen, but the match seems a natural fit considering much of Ready Player One is set inside a virtual reality world.
Outlast 2 Developer Clears Up Australian Ratings Confusion
Outlast 2 developer Red Barrels has clarified that Outlast 2’s recent classification snag in Australia was caused by a misleading video file provided with the submission.
“The original submission of Outlast 2 sent to the Australian Classification Branch contained the final game code and a video file for reference taken from an Alpha version of the game,” the studio explained in a statement provided to IGN. “This video file should not have been sent along with the game code, as its content was not representative of the final game.”
“In the second submission, the same game code was submitted with a video file reflecting the final game content. The game was then approved for release with an R18+ rating.”
