Forza Horizon Dev Making a Non-Racing, Open World Game
Playground Games, the UK developer behind the Forza Horizon series, will be opening a second studio to work on a new game.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the untitled new game - currently referred to only as 'Project 2' - will be open world, and will not feature racing.
"We feel like we've become pretty good at racing games over the years," said Playground founder, Ralph Fulton. "We can always get better, we can always strive to get better but we'd love to prove ourselves in a different genre.
"That's another goal of Project 2, to allow us to do that. We're going to need to hire some very talented people with experience that we don't have."

Ubisoft Has Worked on an Assassin’s Creed VR Game
Ubisoft has spent some time working on a virtual reality Assassin's Creed game, subtitled Da Vinci’s Workshop, but it likely won't be getting a release.
According to VG24/7, the project is a collaboration between Ubisoft and students at NHTV in the Netherlands. "The game itself is a co-op escape room where players must solve numerous puzzles inside Leonardo’s workshop to recover a piece of Eden," says lead designer Tim van Kan on his website.
He also points out that, "currently there is no plan for game to be commercially released or released at all." This still leaves the chance of it will showing up at games expos, but it's also possible that Ubisoft is simply testing the waters for the possibilities of turning its major franchises into VR experiences without expending too much effort on its own part.

First Look at John Boyega in Pacific Rim 2
The Force Awakens actor John Boyega has shared a first look at his Pacific Rim: Uprising character.
Boyega posted a photo of his character Jake Pentecost on Twitter, though the image doesn't reveal much besides the interesting-looking location that he's in, perhaps the inside of a Jaeger.
