Vampyr Is a More Interesting Take on the Vampire Myth
The vampire is one of the most familiar and consistently employed of the monster roster. Each year we are beset by new creative works that use bloodsuckers as either their central protagonist or antagonist, some creators claiming to shine fresh light on the creature and some happy to shamelessly re-tread the same ground.
Despite the ubiquitous nature of vampires, French studio Dontnod (Remember Me, Life Is Strange) remains convinced of their continued ability to attract audiences and has dedicated itself to focusing its next game, Vampyr, around them. Set in early-20th century London, a city in the throes of political, scientific and social upheaval, you play as a doctor struggling to come to terms with recently having become a creature of the night.

The Best Justice League of America Team Lineups
The Justice League is DC's premier superhero team. And with so many heroes occupying the DC Universe, the League roster has evolved quite a bit over the years. Sometimes it features the best, brightest and most famous heroes and sometimes the up-and-coming newbies, but more often it's a mixture of both. That's definitely the case with the newest incarnation of the team making its debut in Justice League of America #1 this week.
To celebrate the newest Justice League, we're looking back at our favorite JLA rosters in DC's comics, ranging from the classic 1970's team to the modern New 52 incarnation. We'll break down some of the essential stories for each and the easiest way to read them.
More Evidence of Doomfist Emerges in Latest Overwatch Update
While the latest Public Test Region update has brought some big changes to Overwatch, the Internet is going quietly wild about a very, very small one.
Reddit user Venxa points out that the model for the payload on the game's Numbani map has received a small change in the game's back-end - the glass case on top now appears to be smashed.
Overwatch’s Capture the Flag Is Made A Permanent Mode
Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has announced that Capture the Flag will remain a playable part of Overwatch, with nine more maps being added to the roster - but there's a caveat.
Capture the Flag was introduced during the Year of the Rooster event, which celebrates Chinese New Year. Previous modes introduced for timed festivities have included Lucioball and Mei's Snowball offensive, both of which were made unavailable once their associated events ended.
However, Kaplan confirmed in a developer update that the decision to make Capture the Flag a permanent fixture of Overwatch will spark a few changes. The mode will only be available as a custom game (not Quick Play or Ranked), so in conjunction with this news Blizzard is introducing the server browser.

Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day Event Offers Double Candy
Niantic has announced a new Pokemon Go event for Valentine’s Day.

Pink Pokemon including Chansey, Clefable, and Porygon will have an increased chance of spawning, and players are also more likely to hatch baby Pokemon including Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum. Lure modules, which normally last 30 minutes, will last for six hours during the event.
This is Pokemon Go’s fourth holiday event, following increased chances of meeting ghost Pokemon for Halloween, double experience for Thanksgiving, and free egg incubators for Christmas.

The Surge Is Succeeding at Being More Than a Sci-fi Souls
Tough-as-nails, combat-focused RPGs have, since 2009’s Demon’s Souls, became one of gaming most fashionable genres. Adored by many, respected by those who don’t even play them and supporting a whole subculture of Let’s Plays, memes and dedicated forums - few genres have made such an impact so quickly.
The result of this rise in popularity is that more developers are devoting time and money to the production of such games. Alongside FromSoftware hall-of-famers Dark Souls and Bloodborne, Lords of the Fallen and Nioh have also made an impact, whilst independently-made fare such as Salt and Sanctuary and the upcoming Eitr offer a slightly different spin on the formula.
