Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 9 DLC Characters We Want
Mario Kart 8's DLC opened up the floodgates for additional characters joining the Wii U racing title's initial roster. Characters like Link, Isabelle, and Villager were available as purchasable add-ons after the game's initial launch.
But now, Mario Kart 8 is coming back and getting a fresh coat of paint in April as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition for the Switch. And while Nintendo has already added in some new characters for the Deluxe Edition -- including righting a grievous wrong and bringing my go-to racer Dry Bones back -- there's also the possibility of further DLC characters coming after release. Nintendo hasn't confirmed that the Switch version will get DLC, but that didn't stop us from putting together a list of what characters we'd like to see join Mario and friends for a few laps of blue-shell dodging and banana-peel throwing.

Before being inducted as the latest Hall of Fame member by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, Howard offered IGN an update on Bethesda Game Studios’ future projects, while also reflecting on how the studio’s past is informing that slate of games currently in development.

All Future Halo Shooters Will Have Split-Screen Support
Today at DICE 2017, 343 Industries head Bonnie Ross confirmed that all future FPS Halo games will have split-screen multiplayer.
During her talk, titled "Stewards of a Sci-Fi Universe," Ross discussed some of the lessons that 343 has learned over the past few years, including the rough multiplayer launch of The Master Chief Collection, as well as the lack of split-screen multiplayer in Halo 5: Guardians, noting it's "incredibly painful for the community" and for those at the studio. As such, Ross confirmed that "for any FPS going out forward, we will always have split-screen."

How Street Fighter II Inspired Mortal Kombat’s Fatalities
Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has shed light on where the original idea for Fatalities came from, citing the Street Fighter franchise as a key source of inspiration.
On the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered, Boon revealed that the dizzy mechanic introduced in Street Fighter II (which renders a player unable to move for a brief period of time mid-battle after getting it too many times consecutively) ultimately led to the creation of Fatalities in Mortal Kombat.
