Dell Just Announced an 8K Computer Monitor, Coming Soon
Dell announced its new UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 8K computer monitor, the world's first 32-inch 8K computer display.
The monitor displays over a billion colors, with 33.2 million pixels of resolution, and has 280 ppi pixel density, which puts it ahead of even the 5K iMac's Retina display.
All those pixels don't come cheap, unfortunately. The Dell monitor will set you back a cool $5,000 USD when it releases in the second quarter of this year.
AMD Wants You to Join the Radeon Rebellion With Its Vega GPUs
AMD revealed new details of its upcoming Vega graphical architecture today.
To give gamers a taste of what Vega GPUs will offer when they hit the streets in the second half of 2017, AMD posted a clip of Doom played at Ultra settings, in 4K, constantly hitting 60fps and greater framerates.
That puts whatever Vega GPU is being used roughly on-par with Nvidia's GTX 1080.
AMD calls it the biggest improvement in its "graphics IP in the last 5 years." In fact, AMD wants you to join the "Radeon Rebellion" when GPUs with the new architecture go on sale later this year.
The Vega architecture uses a "revolutionary memory subsystem" to rapidly access huge swaths of memory over a "mix of memory types."
The Batman: 9 Director Choices Who Could Replace Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck doesn't seem that jazzed about making his standalone Batman movie, currently known as The Batman. As recently as this week, the BvS star said, "If it doesn't come together in a way I think is really great I'm not going to do it." That's just one example of his seemingly distancing himself from the director's chair over the past several months.
There are various theories about why Affleck is hedging (negotiating tactic? franchise regret? fear of more Sad Batman memes?), but the bottom line is Warner Bros. is going to make a solo Batman movie either with or without their star in the director's chair.

Honda’s New Motorcycle Uses Robotics to Stay Upright
Honda introduced two new technology-packed vehicles during CES: its Riding Assist motorcyle and NeuV concept smart car.
The NeuV, which stands for "New Electric Urban Vehicle," is a concept car Honda built based around the idea of bringing extra value to car owners when they aren't using their cars.
When not in use, the idea goes, the NeuV would serve as an "automated ride sharing vehicle," ferrying customers to their destinations while you sit at home, reaping the profits.
The Riding Assist motorcycle uses robotics tech originally designed for Honda's self-balancing personal mobility device, the UNI-CUB. The technology greatly reduces the chances of the bike tipping over when at rest, and it looks pretty sweet, too.

The Surprise Horror Twist to Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet
Netflix's new comedy series The Santa Clarita Diet starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant hasn't sounded particularly remarkable...until now.
If want to go into the show completely blind, stop reading now.
USA Today has revealed that the titular diet is in fact, cannibalism, and Drew Barrymore's character Sheila Hammond slowly begins to feel the hunger pangs after she dies in the first episode.
Honda’s New Payment System Is Like Apple Pay for Your Car
Honda and Visa have teamed to create an in-vehicle payment system and are putting the technology on display at CES.
The payment system is designed with the car in mind, and to demonstrate its new system, Honda is using fuel pumps from Gilbarco Veeder-Root and "smart parking meters from IPS Group, Inc."
It's similar in function to the payment system you may have on your smartphone in that it does away with the need to hand over cash or swipe a plastic card. If you pull up to a compatible device, the car will let you know you can pay for fuel or parking using the system.
John Moon, Developer Relations Lead at Honda Developer Studio, said the system and partnerships are "focused on simplicity and convenience" for drivers.
New Powerless Trailer Shows Bruce Wayne Connection
A new trailer for the DC Comics human-focused comedy series Powerless shows a connection with DC's most prolific billionaire playboy, Bruce Wayne.
The trailer shows protagonist Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) at Wayne Security, where she works as Director of Research and Development. This is a significiant deviation from the pilot we saw at last year's Comic-Con, where Locke worked at a different company unrelated to any other DC character.

Did You Catch the Destiny Reference in Netflix’s Travelers?
New Netflix sci-fi series Travelers snuck in a fun nod to Bungie's Destiny in its first season, which is all the more clever considering the show's name.
The Canadian drama, which premiered on Showcase in October before Netflix debuted it internationally in late December, tosses in the reference in episode 8, "Donner." Reilly Dolman's Philip Pearson is making bets on a horse race, and the horse's names sound strikingly familiar.
