Altered Beast, Streets of Rage Coming to TV, Film

Altered Beast and Streets of Rage, two classic SEGA game franchises, are getting TV and film adaptations.

Variety reports that Stories International and Fear the Walking Dead production company Circle of Confusion are working together on the two SEGA properties.

“These are some of the most well-loved SEGA games, and we are thrilled to be working with Stories to adapt them into major film and television franchises,” said Circle of Confusion partner Lawrence Mattis.

Stories is also developing movies and TV shows based on Shinobi, Golden Axe and The House of the Dead. Back in 2014, SEGA unveiled plans to expand into filmmaking.

Humans: Season 2 Premiere Date and Poster Revealed

The second season of AMC's drama series Humans will premiere on Monday, February 13 at 10pm ET/PT.

In addition to announcing the premiere date, the network also pulled back the curtain on the new key art for Season 2, which bears the tagline, "Reboot. Recharge. Rebel."

AMC also released a trailer for Human's upcoming second season, which you can check out below. Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Jessica Jones), Sam Palladio (Nashville, Episodes), Marshall Allman (True Blood, Prison Break), Sonya Cassidy (The Paradise, Olympus), Bella Dayne (Man in the High Castle) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther, Cucumber, Banana) join the cast for Season 2.

Westworld Creators Talk Season 2 and Ford’s Plan

Warning: Full spoilers for the Westworld: Season 1 finale follow.

Westworld’s first season has come to a close, and suffice to say, fans can’t wait to see what happens next – though they will indeed have to wait, unfortunately, as the show isn’t likely to rerurn until 2018 for Season 2. In the meantime though, I spoke to the show’s creators, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy – who co-wrote the season finale, with Nolan directing as well – to discuss the big reveals that occurred and what it means for the future.

Nolan and Joy weighed in on what we learned, what it could mean and more, including how they felt that some of their big reveals were being predicted online by a passionate group of Westworld fan theorists.

Game of Thrones Reportedly Eyeing UFC’s Conor McGregor

UFC star Conor McGregor will reportedly appear in one of the two remaining seasons of Game of Thrones.

Although no information about the extent of McGregor's role is known, a source told Belfast-based outlet the Sunday Life, via Metro, the current UFC lightweight champion has agreed to appear at some point in the show before it ends.

"He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the Game of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan," a source told the paper. "They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show."

We reached out to HBO about the report and they declined to comment.

The Walking Dead Star Responds to Exit Rumors

The Walking Dead fans have been concerned in recent weeks that Chandler Riggs, who stars as Carl, would potentially be exiting the series because he's been accepted into college. In a new interview, Riggs finally addressed the rumors on how it will affect his continued involvement on The Walking Dead.

When asked how his acceptance to Auburn may impact his future with The Walking Dead, Riggs told The Hollywood Reporter he hopes he can continue to be involved with the show, while also experiencing normal life as a college student.

Legion Premiere Date and New Trailer Revealed

Legion, the upcoming X-Men series from FX and Marvel Television, will premiere on Wednesday, February 8 at 10pm ET/PT.

In addition to announcing the release date, FX Networks released the second official trailer for the series. Legion stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic whose mental manifestations may be more than mere figments of his imagination.

In addition to Stevens, the upcoming series from Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley stars Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton, Jeremie Harris, Bill Irwin and Aubrey Plaza. According to executive producer Bryan Singer, the show will relate to future X-Men movies.

Nintendo Offers a Few More Details on Zelda: Wind Waker 2

Nintendo shed some light on The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 2, a sequel to the then-divisive cel-animated Zelda adventure, would have taken on a “more land-based setting.”

The new information came from an interview with artist Satoru Takizawa, design manager and enemy designer of Wind Waker, in the Japanese edition of The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts (called The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Graphics in Japan). It was translated by Nintendo Everything.

When asked about the shift towards realistic art direction for Twilight Princess, Takizawa admitted that the team had begun the initial steps towards creating Wind Waker 2, but the demand for a more Ocarina-like game couldn’t be ignored.

Oscars: Jimmy Kimmel to Host 2017 Academy Awards

Following his hosting stint at this year's 68th Primetime Emmys, Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the 2017 Academy Awards.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kimmel's selection will soon be announced by the show's producers, Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd. Though, Kimmel already confirmed the news on Twitter.

For Kimmel, this will be the first time hosting the Oscars after headlining the Primetime Emmys twice, in 2016 and 2012.

ABC, which is home to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, recently struck a new deal to broadcast the Oscars until 2028, affording the network more creative input on the show, like picking a host, The Hollywood Reporter explained. The Academy still has the final say, according to THR.

5 Notable Zombie Comedies

With AMC's The Walking Dead still blazing traumatizing trails on TV, the zombie genre has proven to be one of the most enduring and bankable blueprints in horror.

The overall grimness of the genre, however, can make any attempt to binge-watch a depressing dive. It's not exactly a sunny ride. Rarely is there a "cure" in sight, which means that the zompocalypse hellscape is permanent and inescapable, making everyone's journey one of survival and little else.

There are a few exceptions to the dreariness though and we've complied a list of famous films that managed to paint zombie outbreaks with a lighter brush. Here are some notable zombie comedies that managed to find laughs in the bleakest of stories.

Disney Made More Money This Year at the Box Office Than Any Studio Ever

Following this weekend's box office results, Walt Disney Studios has set a new box office record domestically while also crossing a major international gross milestone for the first time.

Walt Disney Studios, which encompasses Marvel Studios, Pixar, Disney Animation, and more, has so far made over an estimated $2.49 billion at the box office this year, the most any company has ever made at the domestic box office.

The previous record for the highest domestic box office year was held by Universal Pictures for its 2015 results, which were bolstered by the release of Jurassic World, Furious 7, and Minions. Disney came in second place to Universal last year, with approximately $2.3 billion dollars at the box office.
