Wrestling Wrap Up: Dean Ambrose Deserved the Betrayal
I'm gonna get needlessly analytical with this week's headline topic, but what is the Wrap Up if not my prix fixe menu of self-indulgence?
Dean Ambrose was a total a-hole to James Ellsworth and, basically, deserved to get bitten on the ass by the whole Ellsworth phenomenon.
Look, wrestling never delves into character complexities. It's a fairly basic black and white playbook. Heels are loud liars and/or "know-it-alls" who talk too much. The babyface's job is to shut them up with fists, even when they make sense. Hell, especially when they make sense and hit too close to the nerve.
Tomb Raider Reboot Casts Hateful 8’s Walton Goggins as Villain
Walton Goggins is in final negotiations to star as the antagonist in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot movie.
Other than Goggins' role as the villain, no other details about his character are known, according to Variety.
Goggins, who recently stared in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight and HBO's Vice Principals, will join Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl), who was cast earlier this year to play Lara Croft.
Anime Helmer Shinkai’s Oscar Contender
The Japanese animated film Your Name. has been the biggest hit of the year in that country, and is currently their fifth highest-grossing film of all time. It’s on the shortlist for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and it’s the first non-Hayao Miyazaki anime film to make over $100 million (¥10 billion) in Japan. Directed by Makoto Shinkai, it’s the story of a young girl named Mitsuha in a small town who is frustrated with her simple life. Her father, the mayor, is mostly absent and she’s constantly teased at school. She wishes that, in her next life, she could come back as a handsome boy who lives in Tokyo. Taki, a handsome boy in Tokyo finds himself switching bodies with Mitsuha a few days a week after a comet is seen in the sky. In Taki’s body, Mitsuha helps him on a date with a girl he likes. He helps her find confidence at school. Though they can’t speak, they leave each other messages, on their bodies, in notebooks and in a phone diary. Through this, they learn about each other’s lives and find themselves falling in love. The problem? They’re not just separated by location. They’re separated by time, and one of their timelines is about to end in disaster.
